Based on the current weather forecast, Johnston County Public Schools will continue normal operations on Monday, September 16, 2024. However, all after-school and evening campus activities and events have been canceled due to the forecast.
We understand that this decision will inconvenience many after-school events, however, student and staff safety is our primary concern.
It is our district’s goal to make our school communities as prepared as possible for emergency situations, including inclement weather. This decision has been made out of an abundance of caution, per the guidance of local and state emergency service officials.

Johnston County Public Schools is in the process of selecting a calendar for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 school years. 📅
During the September 10, regular scheduled meeting the JC Board of Education received three (3) calendar options for each school year, and has requested that each of the calendar options be made available for your review and feedback.

The Riverwood Ravens are excited to welcome all fans to our athletic contests this school year! In conjunction with Johnston County Public Schools and the Johnston County Middle School Athletic Conference , we would like to remind everyone that our athletic contests are an extension of the classroom and part of the school setting. We ask that everyone remain positive, refrain from negative comments or behaviors, as well as treat others with respect and the way they would want to be treated. We ask for a show of appreciation and support of all athletes, coaches, and officials throughout all athletics events. Here is this week's edition of News from the Nest. It was another great week at The Nest as the school year is off to an EXCELLENT start for our students and staff! This week, we celebrated our academic accomplishments from the 23-24 school year as the State Board of Education released school performance data. I am so proud of our students and staff for their remarkable accomplishments last year and know that this year will be even better!

We spent much of the week setting expectations for students, building positive relationships, creating our grade level social contracts, and introducing curriculum. This form is ONLY for students that currently reside within the Riverwood Athletic Club Community and have previously not been eligible for bus transportation.
For the upcoming school year, JCPS will be providing bus transportation to and from COMMUNITY STOPS within the Riverwood Athletic Club Community, that was previously designated a walk zone. JCPS is requesting that all walkers now use this bus transportation as the means of getting students within the community to and from school safely. This form will replace the RMS Walker Form that is typically distributed at the beginning of the school year. All families within the Riverwood Athletic Club Community with students previously not eligible for bus transportation MUST complete this form no later than Wednesday, August 7, 2024. Completion of this form by the 7th will ensure that your student receives JCPS provided bus transportation on the first day of school. Specific bus assignment information should be available at our 6th Grade Orientation on August 19th and 7th & 8th Grade Open House on August 20th. A link to the form is available below.
