This form is ONLY for students that currently reside within the Riverwood Athletic Club Community and have previously not been eligible for bus transportation.  For the upcoming school year, JCPS will be providing bus transportation to and from COMMUNITY STOPS within the Riverwood Athletic Club Community, that was previously designated a walk zone. JCPS is requesting that all walkers now use this bus transportation as the means of getting students within the community to and from school safely. This form will replace the RMS Walker Form that is typically distributed at the beginning of the school year. All families within the Riverwood Athletic Club Community with students previously not eligible for bus transportation MUST complete this form no later than Wednesday, August 7, 2024. Completion of this form by the 7th will ensure that your student receives JCPS provided bus transportation on the first day of school. Specific bus assignment information should be available at our 6th Grade Orientation on August 19th and 7th & 8th Grade Open House on August 20th. JCPS is looking for Reading Buddy volunteers to help our students this summer! We need parents, grandparents, community members, and high school students to join our Summer Reading Camp participants during morning arrival. Volunteers will listen to and encourage students as they develop their reading skills. No experience is required, but you will need to register and be a volunteer with JCPS before you begin. Hello! This is Principal Sawyer with an important announcement regarding the upcoming road closure that will affect some of our bus routes and daily commutes. Please be advised that beginning at 8:00 AM on April 1, 2024, the North Carolina Department of Transportation will begin construction on Buffalo Creek bridge along Covered Bridge Road in Northern Johnston County. Due to the construction, Cover Bridge Road will be closed in both directions, near Prestwood Lane. The project is expected to be continuous from April 1, 2024 to October 28, 2024. The closure will have a direct impact on 11 schools, including ours. We will not be certain until we begin to experience the delays, but it is estimated that detours could add 15-40 minutes of travel time for some routes. Our transportation department will provide some direct guidance to families on how commuters can prepare for the upcoming changes. The Edulog Parent Portal will reflect the closure and affected routes will be automatically re-routed by the software. Families have also been advised that stop times within the Edulog Parent Portal software will be altered immediately; however, the new route changes will not take place until April 8, 2024.
