Principals are focusing on three main essentials: Students First, People’s Principal, and Instructional Leadership. Assistant principals are focusing on Principal Support, People Leadership, and Instructional Leadership.

Day 2 of JCPS Leadership began with a focus on its core instruction definition, which is “High Quality Teaching and Learning for ALL students."

They participated in training sessions designed with the tools they will need to move their schools forward on the path to student success and academic achievement.
The afternoon sessions will also be filled with essential district elements including “Why Do We Exist: Principal Essentials” and “Why Do We Exist: Thriving as a New Assistant Principal”.

Leadership 2026 has begun!
New principals and assistant principals are engaging in 7 sessions of informative and instructive leadership training.
The passionate group of 26 administrators will receive presentations on curriculum and instruction, relationship development, accountability, effective hiring practices, district practices and standards, and much, much more.
This group of strong leaders are proof that the future is bright for JCPS!

Please note the Workout Schedule for the summer for fall sports. If your student is interested in any of the fall sports, please join for summer workouts on the dates provided in the file. This includes boys' soccer, volleyball, cheer, and football . Your child must be signed up in Final Forms and have an updated physical on file to participate. Additionally, our Booster Club is looking for parent volunteers. The club is seeking crucial board positions which are required for the club to move forward as an organization for the 2026-2027 school year. The JCPS Middle School Track Championships, held at Cleveland High, brought together the district’s top student-athletes for a day of speed, strength, and spirited competition.
Congratulations to the Cleveland Middle boys track & field team and the Riverwood Middle girls track & field team, who took home the first-place trophies.

Today, we had 22 middle and high school teams representing JCPS, and our Special Olympics athletes made the day unforgettable! They led the day from start to finish with determination, lots of energy, and incredible support for one another.
We are so grateful for Special Olympics Johnston County, our Special Olympics athletes, JCPS staff, volunteers, and families who made the Spring Games amazing!
