Dear Riverwood Families,
Riverwood Families & Parents, we need your help at our Spring Scholastic Book Fair!
As we embrace the vibrant energy (and pollen) of Spring, we understand it can be a bustling season for everyone. However, we invite you to take a refreshing pause and join us in fostering a lifelong love of reading among our students at the upcoming Scholastic Book Fair.
Your involvement, whether for a full shift or a brief visit, is invaluable and what makes the fair a success! Unfortunately, without enough volunteers, we may need to reduce the shopping hours available to our students and families. Your participation will ensure our young readers have ample opportunity to explore and discover new books!
We are eagerly anticipating the Book Fair next week and sincerely hope to see you there! To sign up and explore the different ways you can contribute, please follow the link below and select 'Spring Book Fair.' Opportunities are available from setup to preview days starting this week.

Thank you in advance for your support in making this event a success!
Warm regards,
Cayce Tilghman

Good evening Riverwood Elementary Families! This is your principal Mrs. White with a few updates. Thank you parents for supporting the APEX Fundraiser over the last 2 weeks. The APEX team taught 240 Leadership lessons, our students ran a total of 27,732 laps, and our families raised over $52,000. Thank you so much for always supporting our students and school! Part of the proceeds will be immediately used to purchase 2 books and a bag for every student to take home for the summer. We are also going to have a Book Drive and we are asking parents to send in gently used books the week of April 21-25 so that we can sort them and add the donated books to also go home with students over the summer. See the Book Drive flyer coming home tomorrow. Also coming home tomorrow are 4th Quarter Progress Reports and a letter with end of year dates. As a reminder, Spring Break is next week, April 14-18. Thank you for your continued support and have a great evening!

We are super proud of you of our amazing chorus and superstar leader Mrs Miller who got to sing at the Mudcats game this weekend.

We are so proud of you of our Battle of the Books team. They took 3rd Place in Regional competition this weekend!!!

Lance Blocker, Meteorologist with CBS 17 News came and spoke with our 5th graders today. Absolutely amazing opportunity for all.

Students received a Muddy Book Club Book Tracker in January where they could list ten books that they have read. 📖 We have approval for students to turn their paper in to the box office on Saturday, April 5, in exchange for a book marker that will give them a free ticket for a future Mudcats game. This is the day that the RES chorus will sing the National Anthem 🎶 AND proceeds from each ticket purchased from the link below, will go back to the RES PTA. Students can also turn their paper in on Sunday, April 6 or Sunday, April 20.
Come see Sue Ann Hallinger, one of our fabulous 3rd grade teachers, throw the ceremonial first pitch ⚾️ ,and enjoy fireworks after the game!!! 🎆

Good evening Riverwood Elementary families! This is your principal Mrs. White. Thank you families for all you have done to raise money for the APEX Fundraiser. Our students have really enjoyed learning about how they can become future leaders! As a reminder, the APEX Fun Run is scheduled for this Thursday, April 3rd. 1st and 3rd grade are from 11-12 pm, Kindergarten and 4th grade from 1-2 pm , and 2nd and 5th grade from 2-3 pm. The Fun Run will be held at the Riverwood Middle practice field that is next to Athletic Club Boulevard. Parents are encouraged to attend but it is important that you do not park on Athletic Club Boulevard or in the back parking lot at Riverwood Middle. Doing so will impede their dismissal procedures. For extra parking, please park at the shops, the Athletic Club gravel lot or Food Lion. Please be sure your child drinks plenty of water leading up to Thursday as it is going to be a hot day! Also, the JCPS Spring Parent Survey has been extended through this Friday, April 4th. Parents, please take the time to take the survey. Your feedback is critical to our continuous improvement as a school. Teachers sent the survey link out and you can find it on the JCPS website. Thank you for your continued support and have a great evening.
