This is your Principal, Lyndsey Dunn, with your updates for the week. Wow what a wonderful last week we had - from Career & Culture day to field day, there was so much joy on the campus. Thank you to everyone in our community that volunteered of your time to participate or attend in these events with our students. Thank to everyone who supported our Relay Recess event as well. Your donations are near and dear to our hearts.
*On Monday, 3/17 - we are providing Duty Free Lunch for our teachers. Please look on our facebook page to sign up and volunteer. It truly is enjoyable with the kids and our teachers appreciate it so much.
*On Tuesday, 3/18 Quarter 3 report cards will be sent home. Also, it is our Spring Picture day, but remember only the students who have paid online prior to picture day, or have an order form will be photographed.
* On Friday, 3/21 is the Q3 Principal Book Club Reward Party.
*Yearbooks are on sale now, but the last day to purchase them is Friday, March 28th. There is a QR code on our facebook page with the ordering information if you haven't bought one yet.
Looking ahead - our Spring Book Fair will run from March 21-28 where students can purchase books during the day or during arrival with their parents. On March 27th, we will have a curriculum family night from 5:00 - 6:30 pm, where the book fair will be open to purchase from as well.

Good evening Patriot Families,
This is your Principal, Lyndsey Dunn with a few updates for tomorrow. Tomorrow is Field Day and our Relay for Life Event. Students have decorated luminaria bags and they are displayed around the school. These can be purchased for $10.00. We will have a table set up in the front hallway for you to purchase the bags if you would like. The bags that are purchased will be displayed at the Johnston County Relay for Life Event on May 17th, then returned to the students. We also have some swag that can be purchased for a small donation. Students can wear a hat tomorrow if they bring in a quarter. Please tell your child to place their donation in the containers at the front or bus entrance.
For field day, the weather is supposed to be beautiful! Just a friendly reminder that if you want your child to wear sunscreen, please make sure that it is applied before they come to school. School staff is not allowed to apply it. Also, they are welcome to bring a water bottle. A change of clothes is not needed because there will not be any water events. We look forward to this day and can't wait to see our students having fun!

Good evening Patriot Families, This is your Principal, Lyndsey Dunn with a few updates. Next week will be an exciting one. Monday, March 10 is Career Day, Tuesday and Wednesday are teacher workdays. Therefore there is no school for students. Thursday is our Field Day as well as our Relay Recess. All students are encouraged to wear a hat with a donation for the American Cancer Society. Please continue to send in those canned foods to hold down the beautiful bags the students have decorated. For field day, students are welcome to bring a water bottle. There are no water events so a change of clothes is not necessary. As a reminder, school staff cannot apply sunscreen so you must do that before your student comes to school. 3rd quarter Principal Book Club logs are due Friday. Thank you for all that you do and have a wonderful weekend.

Looking ahead Career and Culture day is on March 10th, but our interest forms are due February 21st. Please turn those in and you will be contacted with more information.
For carpool, please remember to enter off of highway 210 and not off of highway 50 to ensure that carpool runs smoothly and safely.

Good evening Patriot Families,
This is your Principal, Lyndsey Dunn with a few reminders. PTA is hosting a Someone Special Dance over Two days this week. Students with the last names A-L will attend Thursday, 2/6 and students with the last names M-Z will attend Friday 2/7. The dance begins at 5:30 pm and ends promptly at 8:00 pm. This dance is not like one at middle school, but instead it is a time to bring the special adult in your life to a dance with you. Every person attending must have a ticket. Students cannot be dropped off and every student must have a parent/guardian staying with them for the entire event.
The pre-registration for the Someone Special Dance ends tomorrow, Tuesday, February 4th at 4:00 pm. with the price of $6 per person. If you wait to purchase your tickets at the door, admission is $8.00. This includes entry and one photo.
For the event, everyone must enter through the front entrance. Wristbands will be sent home with the pre-registered students on Thursday, February 6th.

Due to the hazardous road conditions caused by the recent winter weather event, Johnston County Public Schools will be closed for all students tomorrow, Friday, January 24, 2025, as well as all extracurricular activities. The district will operate under Condition 3 of the inclement weather plan.
For JCPS staff, this day will become an optional teacher workday. Schools and county offices will open at 10 AM.
As always, safety is our primary concern and after driving our roadways and receiving guidance from local safety officials and NCDOT, we have been advised that though the main roads within high-traffic areas may be clear, many secondary roads within the rural areas of the county are expected to still have hazardous conditions through Friday, making them unsafe for JCPS transportation use. In addition, many of our campuses have shaded walkways, parking lots, and areas that must continue to be assessed by our operational staff before students may safely return.
Extracurricular activities and community facility use will resume on Saturday morning, however, we still encourage site visitors to travel safely and be cautious while on campus, particularly in shaded areas.

This is your Principal, Lyndsey Dunn, with some information. Monday, January 20th there will be no school for staff or students due to observing the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday.
Today, PTA drew the Spring VIP Carpool Winners and notified them with a phone call. The winners names have also been posted on our social media page. Thank you to everyone who participated in this fundraiser.
We are kicking off our Kids Heart Challenge starting this Tuesday, January 21st! Get ready to change and save lives by registering, sending messages, and completing Finn's Mission. If your child raises over $250, they will get to participate in our ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE, where they will pour ICE COLD WATER onto Coach Hines' head in front of the entire school. The fundraiser will end on Friday, February 14th. 100% of the proceeds go to the American Heart Association to help kids fight heart disease and other heart conditions.

This is your Principal, Lyndsey Dunn. First of all, I hope you all stay safe and warm and that since you are home, we all get to enjoy some beautiful winter snow. Secondly, you may have noticed but our new Digital Marquee is up and running. Please take advantage of looking at the dates for the remainder of the year while you are waiting in our carpool.
In other news, Spring VIP carpool sales are currently open through our PTA. These will be closing on January 16th. The drawing will be held on January 17th for our lucky winners. Purchase your tickets for a chance to win a spot in the back lot and skip the long carpool line in the front.
Today report cards went home with your students. Please check their folders to see the progress they are making towards the standards so far this year.
Due to the inclement weather schedule today, the Principal Book Club Reward Party has now been moved to next Friday, January 17th.

This is your Principal, Lyndsey Dunn. We have had such a fun time counting down with the 12 days of winter. Tomorrow is our final day before break so celebrate and cozy up by wearing your pajamas. Dismissal will begin at 1:45 pm and there will be no afterschool care. I hope you all have a wonderful break with your family. January 3rd is a teacher workday, so we will welcome students back from break on Monday, January 6th.

This is your Principal, Lyndsey Dunn. I apologize that this message is coming to you on Sunday rather than Friday, but due to internet problems, my scheduled post did not send on Friday as intended.
Monday, December 16th, our Admin team is providing staff with a yummy lunch to enjoy as a holiday treat and providing duty free lunch. We also encourage parents to sign-up and volunteer to help monitor the students in the cafeteria during this time. There is a link on our facebook page if this is something you are interested in doing.
Friday, December 20th, the Quarter 2 Principal Book Club logs are due. There will be no exceptions after break since these can be submitted on paper or electronically. Also, as a reminder, December 20th is an early release day so dismissal will begin at 1:45 pm. If you typically wait until later to join our carpool line, please make sure that on this day - you plan to come earlier, so that our staff can begin their holiday break. With fun activities, lots of students get checked out early and there are not as many students at normal dismissal time.
