Congratulations to 1st Grade! You will be receiving a FULLY LOADED ICE CREAM SUNDAE Party with all the fixins'.....but that's not it!....You will also get to PIE THE STAFF! One lucky student from each 1st grade class will be randomly selected to pie a teacher or principal!
Following them in 2nd place is 4th Grade with 6,415 positive points! Awesome job! Your grade will get to have an ICE CREAM CUP party!
And we are happy to announce 3rd place goes to our Kindergarten class, who fought their way back up and finished with only 4,288 negative points, a far cry from the amassed 18,958 negative points they had the day before! Congratulations Kindergarten! Enjoy a COOKIE PARTY for your win!
We would like to a say a whole school shout out the students, staff and families of McGee's! Congratulations to everyone! This fundraiser was able to raise $3,939.00 for our school enrichments that directly impact our students and staff! This fundraiser could not have happened without every one of you and your dedication, determination and support for the MCES community! Thank you!
Also, as a reminder, tomorrow, Monday is a holiday, Veterans day and there will be no school for staff and students. Thank you to anyone who has served or is currently serving in our military.
Have a good evening.

Good evening Patriot families,
This is your Principal, Lyndsey Dunn, with the updates for the week. Our Penny Wars are off to a good start. In first place, 5th grade is winning with 1,795 positive points and in second place is 1st grade with 993 positive points. If you want to know how your grade level is doing and I didn’t mention them - check out the school or pta facebook page and get your coins ready for Monday!
Next week, there is a teacher workday on Tuesday, November 5th. Therefore, there will be no school for students. Also, looking ahead, we will have Fall Picture Retakes on November 14th so please mark that date on your calendar if you are interested.
As a reminder, please make sure that if you are entering the parking lot at 8:55 in the morning, and our tardy bell has rung, you must come into the office with your child and check them in. Once the bells rings, our staff enters the building, and students cannot be let out on the sidewalk by themselves.
Thank you for your support with all things and have a good evening.

Good evening Patriot families,
This is your Principal, Lyndsey Dunn with a fun update. Today was so great seeing all of the different characters from books roaming our hallways and classrooms. Tomorrow, November 1st our Penny Wars begins. The theme is superheroes and our students voted on the chosen one for each grade level. If this is your first time participating in our Penny Wars, each grade can accumulate positive points through donations of pennies, $1 and $5 bills. Other grades can sabotage them with negative points by donating nickels, dimes and quarters. Clear boxes will be located in the front hallway by the office and the money donations will be dropped in daily upon students arrival. Virtual donations can be made as well through a link shared on the flyer sent home, MCES PTA facebook page or our school facebook page. Updates will be provided daily as to the progress and donations raised. The grade with the most positive points will win a big prize! Our Penny Wars will end on next Friday, November 8th. Our students really enjoy this fundraiser and it is all donated in the spirit of fun, with a little competition mixed in. Have a wonderful and safe evening and may the odds be ever in your favor!

Dear Patriot Families,
This is your Principal, Lyndsey Dunn, with your updates for the week. If you follow our school facebook page, you may have seen that all around our school, we have been adding beautiful murals. These murals were purchased with the funds raised by last year’s, 2023-24, Apex Fun Run money. These funds were raised for the purpose of Campus Beautification, but the process of designing, getting approval and installing the murals just took a while. Thank you for your support to make that happen. The purpose of this year’s Apex Fun Run money is to install shade structures on each playground and we have begun the process of getting quotes for those.
Duke Energy came and was digging underground last week as well, so we are getting closer to having electricity to our new Digital Marquee. Thank you for your patience as we get excited and hope to be able to use our new sign soon!
Tomorrow, Monday, October 14th, is Fall Picture Day. We can’t wait to see our students dressed to impress. These are the pictures used for the Yearbook. An order form went home with students last week that they can bring back with them tomorrow. There is also information on our facebook page about how to order online.
Thank you again for all that you do to be a partnership with the school for the success of your children. Have a good evening.

REMINDER: Picture Day is this coming Monday, October 14th. Order Forms have already been sent home with your child. Return the order form with your child on Monday or order pictures online using the information below 📸
