This is your Principal, Lyndsey Dunn with your updates for the week. This week, you may have seen a flier come home from our PTA regarding our Someone Special Dance. The dates for that event are February 5th and 6th, based on your last name. More information will be provided soon, but please refer to the facebook pages and the flier to buy tickets and plan for the special adult in your child’s life to attend with them.
In the event that we have inclement weather, inclement weather packets were already sent home with Quarter 1 report cards. Today, additional review/practice work was also sent home if needed. More communication will come if inclement weather arrives.
Our School is working on becoming a Project Adam Certified School - which prepares schools for sudden cardiac arrest through education and life-saving techniques. A drill will be held after school on Wednesday with a team of people. Students will not be on campus for the drill, unless your child attends after school care. No need to worry if you see Emergency services or Law enforcement on campus - it is just to practice the drill.
Stay safe and warm this weekend.

This is Mrs. Dunn just letting you know that after school today, we will be practicing a drill. If you have a student in afterschool care, the staff will prep them and they will not be a part of the drill, but will just hear an announcement. We are practicing while students are not on campus in order to be be prepared but did not want to startle anyone. If you have any questions, please reach out to me, Mrs. Dunn.
All students and staff should report to schools and campuses on a two-hour delay.
We have been advised that the potential of black ice is possible tonight through Tuesday morning, creating hazardous travel conditions. To allow for better road visibility for our bus drivers, students, and staff drivers, we will be on a two-hour delay tomorrow. We encourage all travelers, especially our student drivers, to travel with caution.
School nutrition will serve breakfast upon students’ arrival. Early morning care will open two hours later than the normal start time.

This is your Principal, Lyndsey Dunn, with a Monday afternoon update. Just a friendly reminder that tomorrow, Tuesday, December 2nd, will be our MCES Tree Lighting. There will be hot chocolate provided and any students who come will be given the opportunity to lead the crowd on a couple of holiday songs. It will begin at 6:30 pm and due to the forecast of rain, it has been moved inside to the cafeteria. Although we loved having this event outside last year, it would be too much to transition indoors with the chance of rain.
We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow evening!
Dear Patriot Families,
Today in your student's Tuesday folder, there are several pieces of information. From our PTA there is a sign up for our Holiday Shop where we need volunteers to help, as well as a catalog to get a preview of the items that will be available. This is always something that the students enjoy, because there are very affordable gifts they can purchase for family members to surprise you with during the holidays. Also, our 12 Days of Winter Fun begins on December 4th, so you will find the information for each of the dress up days. This will give you a little bit of time to prep for those wishing to participate.
Last but not least, please note one change to our Tree Lighting event. On the First semester calendar sent home at the beginning of the year, the date was listed as Thursday December 4th. Due to a scheduling conflict, this event has been changed to Tuesday, December 4th at 6:30 pm. There will be hot chocolate and PTA information provided, and for any students K-5 that come - they will be part of the performance.
We look forward to this busy, but exciting time of year. It's one of the reasons that I enjoy being with elementary aged students so very much. Remember, we won't see you until Monday. Until then, may you enjoy precious time with family.
This is your Principal, Lyndsey Dunn, with the updates for the week. Thank you everyone for your support with Penny Wars last week! What fun was had by all with the healthy competition. In the end, as PTA shared, 2nd grade won 1st place with 3rd graders coming in 2nd place and 1st grade placing third place. Overall this fundraiser brought in a total of $3,800. Thank you again.
This upcoming week is super short. There is no school on Wednesday, November 26 - Through Friday, November 28th.
Tuesday, November 27th is a PTA give back day for students where they will have a popcorn treat and can wear Pajamas! Also, it will be our 4th Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade, except this year we have tried to go a little bigger. Our first graders have been working hard to create balloons like the Macy's day parade, aligned to standards in their curriculum and will debuting those on Tuesday. Beginning at 9:15 am, our parking lot on the elementary side will be closed and you will be asked to park at the middle school lot if you are running late. School wide our elementary students K-5, will be coming outside to in our front parking lot, to watch our first graders and a few guests in their very own parade. We have invited first grade families to come and watch, but we ask you to stay on the middle school side of the parking lot to watch. Our route for the parade will remain in the carpool lot and will begin promptly at 9:30 where law enforcement will help to direct traffic and close off our parking lot to ensure safety. For now, we ask that only first grade parents come to watch since those are the only students participating.
If you are a first grade parent and are staying after the parade for a classroom party, please allow off of our students to get inside of the building first, then you can enter afterwards. Safety is our first priority. We also ask for grace and is this our first time trying to provide our students with an experience to enhance their learning.
Thank you for all that you do and have a good evening.
We are so proud of the incredible young artists here at JCPS.
Congratulations to all of the winners, and thank you for reminding us why attendance matters!

Good evening Patriot Families,
This is your Principal, Lyndsey Dunn. Next week on Monday,November17th begins our PTA Penny Wars! This year each grade level has a fun character based around a book the students know. Grades can sabotage each other and try to deduct points by dropping any silver coins into another grades box. You can also virtually drop money into a grades box by following the QR link. All virtual deposits will be positive points. The grade with the most positive points will win a big prize. On Monday - let the games begin! The Penny Wars will run all week through Friday, November 21st. May the odds be in your favor! Have a good evening.
