10/21/24 The Media Center is closed today. Teachers please do not send students to the media center. Dr. Wright's 3rd and 4th block students need to report to the DLL all week. Ms. Barnhart: Hey, Seniors! College Application week is here. Take advantage of the application fee waivers offered by many NC colleges this week only. Counselors will be in the Media Center 1st, 2nd, and 3rd blocks this week to help you apply. You must use the CFNC.org website. Get permission from your teacher, then come on down. Congratulations to the JV Soccer Team on their 9-0 mercy victory over South East Raleigh on Saturday. Congratulations to Varsity Soccer Team on their 1-0 victory as well! Women's Flag Football team kicks off their season tonight at home against Clayton. The game begins at 7:00 on the soccer field. Track: The indoor track team will hold interest meetings this Thursday and Friday during Ramped Up A in Room 336. If you are interested in running for the track team, you should sign up for one of these meetings. Reach out to Coach Dudash with any questions. Ms. Brown: The Theater Department has their first Fall play this weekend! Tickets for The Crucible are on sale at CVHSfinearts.simpletix.com, or at the door on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Next, we're celebrating Mrs. Jenna Sauls Hairr, principal of Cleveland High School! She has been the principal since 2017, and served two years as assistant principal when the school opened in 2010. After 4 separate matches, spanning the course of around 9 hours of active play, Sunni is the conference singles runner-up , and has qualified for the Eastern Reginal next week! JCPS continues to improve its school performance grades! 🌟 We are proud to announce that 89% of our schools received a school letter grade of A, B, or C according to recent data, surpassing the state average of 66%. This is a tremendous increase since 2018, when 65% of our schools were identified as the same. Through dedication and hard work, three schools moved from a letter grade of C to B, and four schools moved from D to C! 👏 #GreatThingsAreHappeningInJCPS

JCPS communities came together in an extraordinary way for our neighbors in Western North Carolina! 🌟 Donations from our schools for the Hurricane Helene Relief filled three dump trailers, three 3 box trucks, two pickup trucks, and two vans! This outpouring of kindness, compassion, and generosity is what our school system is built upon. We thank everyone involved in this effort! We continue to keep everyone affected by this devastating event in our hearts! ❤
