For students following the traditional school calendar, Wednesday, December 20, 2023 is an early release day. Then students will be out of school from Thursday, December 21, 2023 - Tuesday, January 2, 2024. Students return to school on Wednesday, January 2, 2024.

12/14/23 Announcements: Congratulations top the Varsity Cheerleaders. They placed 1st in the Tumble Division at the Johnston County Competition last night and was also Crowned Grand Champions! Great job ladies. Are you interested in trying out for girls soccer in the spring. There will be an interesting meeting on Monday December 18th during Ramped up A in room 214. We will discuss the upcoming season and winter workouts schedule. The wellness event sponsored by project emotional Wellness has been postponed until January 12th. More information to come. We're nearing the end of our spirit week and are enjoying your festive ugly sweater! Join us for our last day tomorrow in your winter gear. Have you considered your career as a pilot or aircraft maintainer? Did you know that many excellent paying aviation careers don't require a college degree? On Tuesday December 19th during Ramped up A and B, three Cleveland grads who are new pilots, along with an aviation industry consultant will be in room 605 to answer questions about aviation careers and their requirements. Stop by room 605 and see Mr. Patton to sign up. Seats are limited.
12/13/23 Announcements: Ram Academy is cancelled for today. We will hold Ram Academy tomorrow. Ram Academy will start again Jan 3. Johnston County Cheerleading Competition is this evening at West Johnston High School at 6:30 pm. Come out and support your Varsity Cheerleader's. Today is another Holiday in our spirit week! Join us tonight at 7 in the main gym for our VolleyBros tournament. Tomorrow, wear you your favorite Ugly Sweater and warm winter gear on Friday! All winter spirit week participants will be entered into a drawing on Friday, Dec 15 for a prize!

12/11/23 Announcements: Cleveland High would like to Congratulate our very own Dee Massengill. Mrs. Massengill achieved her National Board Certification. congratulations on your achievement. Happy Winter Spirit Week! Students check your email. The form to submit your winter spirit week photos is in your email. Submit pictures everyday to be entered in a drawing for a holiday prize at the end of the week. FFA is having their after school meeting Thursday the 14th at 5:30. JCPS will host a Choice Programs Information Night on Tuesday, December 12, at Smithfield-Selma High, 6 PM to 8 PM.
Attendees will be provided 15 minute information sessions about the various programs offered to 8th graders and a Q&A session.
Students are able to apply for the programs now! The application window for students wanting to attend High School Choice Programs will end on February 21, 2024.

12/8/23 Announcements: CCP Advising Appointments end on December 15. Be sure to schedule an appointment with a JCC advisor so you can register for Spring 2024 SSP classes. Congratulations to Kaitlin Ewald and Aireana Burtch for competing at the FCCLA Fall Leadership Conference at ECU and placing 1st in the Chapter Website event. Please congratulate them when you see them.
12/6/23 Announcements: Academic Bowl Participants Keely King, Nathan Blackwood, Jonathon Disalvo and Katarzyna McMauley advanced to the level 2 Qualifiers in Division 2. These cadets will compete against 183 other schools JROTC Units to try and advance to the Level 3 Qualifier. Your Cleveland Women's Basketball came up short last night in their game against Wakefield. Pushing our record to 4-2. the Rams were led by 10 points from Nevaeh Cannon, 8 points from both Izzy Sholar and Angelia Dunn. We are back on the court Friday night at home against West Johnston. Next week is Winter Spirit Week Celebrate the season and join the fun. Monday is Pajama Day. Dress in your favorite holiday jammies to start the week. Tuesday- Dress in your favorite holiday colors- silver and gold, red and green, or blue and white. The choice is yours. holiday week participants will be entered in a drawing for a prize on Friday Dec 15th! Ram Academy will be held in Room 126- DLL for the remainder of the year.
12/05/23 Announcements: Benchmark assessments begin this week. We know you've been working hard in your classes. We want to encourage you to reach your personal goals for growth. We're proud of you and the work you've been putting in. The Tri-M Music Honor Society is hosting a Christmas Gram fundraiser. This is to fund our service projects this year. Christmas grams will be sold in the commons starting tomorrow 12/6 before 1st block. The cost is $2.00. Christmas grams will be delivered during 4th Block the last week before Christmas Break. Ram Academy will be held in DLL Room 126 today.
The Cleveland Women's team pushed their record to 4-1 with a 46-21 win over Durham Riverside. The Rams were led by 11 points from Nevaeh Cannon, 7 points from Jahzara Gundy and 10 rebounds from Martina Paz-Aquino. We are back on the court tomorrow night at Wakefield. Congratulations to the Varsity Cheerleading team on placing 1st at the NCHSAA Cheerleading State Invitational on Saturday for the 1st time in school history. Cleveland Cheerleading is State Champions! Come out to their next competition December 13th at West Johnston High School.

11-30-23 Announcements: FCCLA officers will meet during RAMped up B today and all other members will meet during RAMped up C om room 601. Congrats to the women's JV basketball team for their overwhelming win VS Athens Drive, 51-9. Top scores of the night were Jaz Lanairez with 8 points, Lindsay Daughtrey with 8, and Avery Morgan with a booming 22 points. The Varsity Women's Basketball team pushed their record to 3-1 on the season with a45-36 win over Athens Drive. The Rams were led by 14 points from Nevaeh Gannon, 9 points from Izzy Sholar, and 9 points and 10 rebounds from Angelia Dunn. We are back on the court Friday night against Durham Riverside.
11/29/23 Announcements: Environmental Club will meet during A- Lunch on Dec 4th for a special presentation and fun activity. FFA has an in school meeting December 5th in the shop during B lunch. We will be decorating Christmas ornaments for the shop tree. We hope ya'll come! Any student interested in competing in the Miss Cleveland High Pageant, please see Ashley Strickland immediately. Practices begin next week. Unified Club members wear your Unified shirts on Wednesday to show your support for our CvHS Unified Team. Unified Game vs West Johnston Unified during RAMped up on Wednesday November 29th.
11/28/23 Announcements: We have placed juniors in to RAMped Up sessions to begin preparing students for the ACT which will happen on February 27th and 28th, 2024. It is important that you attend the ACT session you are assigned during RAMped up! We will have a brief meeting with the junior class tomorrow., 11/29 at 8:15 in the CvHS Auditorium to explain the importance of the ACT and how it may be used in the future.

Congrats to captain Grayson Roberts, Cadet First Class Ray Bannon, Cadet Privates Kataryna McCauley, Kyle O'Rouke and Jacob Burgees on their First Raider Competition placing 7th Overall out of 20 Teams. Congrats to the following event winners at Saturdays' JoCo Invitational Swim Meet. Liz Reed won 100 fly and 100 back .Audrey Deras won 100 breast. The men's 200 free relay of Jarrett Long, Matthew Zamora, Josh Waldon, and Mason Jones won. Josh Waldon won 100 breast. They also took several 2nd and 3red places. Also, congrats to Cooper Thomas for winning the 4A Dive Meet.
