It’s been a jam packed morning for our newest principals and assistant principals!

They participated in training sessions designed with the tools they will need to move their schools forward on the path to student success and academic achievement.

The afternoon sessions will also be filled with essential district elements including “Why Do We Exist: Principal Essentials” and “Why Do We Exist: Thriving as a New Assistant Principal”.

Nine JCPS students participated in the East Carolina University College of Education’s Pirate Institute for Regional Aspiring Teachers and Educators (PIRATE) program. For three days, they, along with nearly 100 rising high school juniors, seniors, and recent graduates from 31 North Carolina counties, immersed themselves in life as an education major at ECU.

These students experienced all facets of college life, including spending the night in Clement Residence Hall, eating meals in West End Dining Hall, playing games in Eakin Student Recreation Center, and attending presentations and classes. Participants were in small groups with a student leader who will stay in contact with them throughout the upcoming school year.

School-based administrators and district leaders from across Johnston County Public Schools recently participated in the engaging Capturing Kids’ Hearts Leadership Blueprint Training. The professional learning experience focused on equipping district and campus leaders with strategies to cultivate positive relationships, strengthen school culture, and build high-performing learning environments where students and staff can thrive.

JCPS is committed to ensuring that its leaders are prepared to lead students forward in the classrooms and in life.

Corinth Holders High School JROTC is excited to host our 2026 Summer Camp for incoming cadets!

⏰ 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
📍 Corinth Holders High School

This three-day camp is a great opportunity for students interested in JROTC to:
✅ Learn the basics of the CHHS JROTC program
✅ Participate in physical fitness activities
✅ Meet fellow cadets and build friendships
✅ Develop leadership skills and teamwork
✅ Have fun before the school year begins
⭐ Earn the opportunity for a promotion before school starts!

USDA is continuing the Sun Bucks program that provides grocery-buying benefits in a one-time payment of $120 per eligible child on a debit-like card that can be used to buy nutritious food during the summer months when schools are out.

The CHHS Pirate Baseball team has made it to the 8A State Championship ball game! Way to go Pirates!!

This Friday, May 29th, at 3:30 PM (line up at 3:15 PM), the Pirate community will cheer on the team as they are sent off to play in Holly Springs. Come out and support Corinth Holders High and their amazing student athletes as they represent Johnston County Public Schools in the 8A State Championship.

Big shout out and congratulations to CHHS Softball for making it to the 8A State Championship!

This Wednesday, May 27 at 12:00 PM (line up at 11:45 AM), students, staff, friends, family, and fans alike will make some noise at Corinth Holders High, sending off our student athletes to Greensboro! Come and wear your purple and gold in support!
