📢It has been reported that JCPS students have received more than 66.2 million in scholarship offerings for the 2024-2025 school year! This is an amazing 18 million more than scholarship offerings received during the 2023-2024 year!📢 A great deal of the offerings have been accepted and will cover tuition costs as these students continue their educational journeys! 💲JCPS is proud of the efforts that go into securing scholarship funding, and we celebrate the students, staff, and parents who work hard to make it happen! 💲 Great things are truly happening in JCPS!

North Carolina is home to a large population of active duty, guard, reserve, and veteran armed services members, and the state’s public schools reflect that. In 2019, the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction launched the Purple Star Award Designation initiative to recognize the state’s strong military presence and support for military families. The Purple Star designation is awarded to schools that demonstrate military-friendly practices and a commitment to military students and families. JCPS had 17 schools receive the Purple Star Award Designation. Due to the state baseball playoff game at home, graduation practice has been moved to 2:00 PM on Thursday. Attendance is required for all seniors who plan to participate in Friday morning’s graduation ceremony. Please make any necessary arrangements to ensure your senior is present and on time. We are excited that Corinth Holders High School senior Briggs McKenzie has been recognized as the 2025 Sam Narron Award recipient! The Sam Narron Award is presented annually to a Johnston County high school senior baseball player who has demonstrated a love for the game through determination, dedication, and sacrifice. Briggs is a stellar student-athlete who has made his way into the history books for his outstanding performance in the classroom and on the baseball diamond. Briggs has committed to LSU Baseball and intends to make an impact there and beyond! Congratulations Briggs on receiving this outstanding recognition! Congratulations to Coach Kristian Stewart! On May 5, JCPS hosted the Spring Special Recognition Celebration at CHHS. More than 400 students and staff members were recognized for academic, athletic, extracurricular, and professional achievements. Coach Stewart was recognized as the JCPS High School Coach of the Year. He previously was awarded the Greater Neuse River 4A Conference Wrestling Coach of the Year 2024-2025.
