Smithfield-Selma High was buzzing with excitement during the Topping Out Ceremony for the nearly completed auxiliary gym. 🎇✨
The gym is the final project of the 2018 Bond Referendum, and will include a locker room, weight room, and restrooms for use by students, staff, and the public. Students and staff will also use the additional space for educational purposes, and extracurricular activities.

Ms. Barnes is in her 7th year as a Bulldog, and has worked hard to create a welcoming community at her school. Clearly, it has paid off because her students, staff, and families absolutely love her! And so do we!!!

Pine Level Elementary wrapped up Red Ribbon Week with its 10th annual parade!
The parade is the grand finale of a week filled with activities encouraging students to live drug-free. Students and their teachers created posters, and designed small floats for their annual march around the school. Families, community members, dignitaries, along with the Pine Level police and fire departments were on hand as a show of support.❤

This morning, Dr. Bracy and the 2023-2024 Student Leadership group met to discuss everything from career paths, peer interaction, responsible use of social media, student and principal relationships, and more.
Just as the many student leaders who came before them, this cohort, is extremely bright. Many shared career paths that included engineering, psychology, economics, and neuroscience. They also made known their intentions of attending various institutes of higher learning, including Duke University, North Carolina Central University, UNC at Chapel Hill, and our very own Johnston Community College.
