JoCo TEACH awards inaugural scholarship to Smithfield-Selma High senior
Carter Clever, a senior at Smithfield-Selma High School (SSS) and a 2023 Johnston Community College graduate was awarded one of the first Johnston County Teaching Educators And Coming Home (JoCo TEACH) program scholarships. Clever received $30,000 to attend the college of his choice through the JoCo TEACH program.
Smithfield-Selma High senior awarded inaugural scholarship
Lilly Johnson, a senior at Smithfield-Selma High School (SSS) was one of two students who received Johnston County Public Schools’ first Johnston County Teaching Educators And Coming Home (JoCo TEACH) scholarship. Johnson received $30,000 towards her dream of becoming a teacher. Additionally, she is among the first group of students to graduate from the JoCo TEACH program.
North Johnston High graduate receives Sam Narron Award
North Johnston High class of 2023 graduate Carter Aycock was recently awarded the prestigious Sam Narron Baseball Award. The award celebrates a Johnston County high school senior baseball player who demonstrated a love for the game through determination, dedication, and sacrifice.

Trades and Classified Job Fair 2023
Johnston County Public Schools will hold it's annual Trades & Classified Job Fair on Saturday, June 24. The event will be held from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Smithfield-Selma High School, 700 M Durwood Stephenson Pkwy, Smithfield, NC 27577.

Our new options will include more fresh produce, vegetarian options, and opportunities for students to customize their meal choice. These new offerings will be available at both breakfast and lunch.
