Surveys
It is important that we listen to the voices of our students and understand their perception in order to create optimal learning environments where our students will thrive and succeed. Therefore, the Student Competencies Survey and the Student Supports & Environment Survey were developed by a Johnston County Public Schools’ district team using the AVID framework to measure progress toward these goals by seeking direct student feedback.
The Student Competencies Survey measures how students perceive their own Skills for Success, covering the following topics:
Self Management
Social Awareness
Learning Strategies
The Student Supports & Environment Survey collects student feedback for their schools, covering the following topics:
Building Relationships
School Safety
Engagement
Sense of Belonging
These surveys are an important component of Johnston County Public Schools’ Strategic Plan 2024-2029. The plan outlines the district’s goals and strategies for continuous improvement. The surveys serve as a tool to monitor the district’s progress toward these goals.
