Tomorrow is the last day to fill out the Family School Relationships Survey.
Johnston County Public Schools is committed to building well-rounded students and consistently improving our schools for greater student success. Our school is participating in an opportunity to gather feedback on how we can better meet our goals of improving student success. This week, students and teachers will participate in JCPS surveys so that we can better support all of our stakeholders. In order to learn more about your students' needs, we will be asking for your student’s feedback via an online survey that began on March 17th and will remain open for students through March 28th. The survey will take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. The survey will be accessed at surveys.panoramaed.com/johnstoncounty - students will use their student ID number to access the survey. It will be taken with their homeroom teacher for grades 3-5. We are asking that all of our students participate in the surveys, as their responses will provide invaluable insights into their experiences and how we can improve and adapt to their needs. If a student doesn’t feel like they have enough information to answer a question, they are able to skip the item altogether. If you don't want your child to participate, please complete the form that will come home in the Tuesday folder. We thank you in advance for your student’s participation. If you have any questions or concerns about the survey administration, please don’t hesitate to contact our school.

Hello Racer families, this is Ms. Durko with some announcements and reminders. Please remember to have students in their classrooms each day by 8:55am. Also, please be very careful when using your cell phones during carpool in the mornings and afternoons as we need everyone to be alert and safe in the lines. Lastly, please do not park your car in the parking lot in the morning and let your students walk into school. Please join the carpool line, as our teachers need those parking places for their own cars. We appreciate your help with that. We are now in the 4th and final quarter for this school year. There is teaching going on all the way to the final dismissal bell each day. Please know that when your students are checked out early, they often miss important Reading and Math instruction. At this time of year it is crucial that students are here on time and stay through the entirety of the day. Please help us out by only checking your students out early for medical appointments or emergencies. Friday is Caps and PJ Bottoms for a Cause. It is also World Down Syndrome Day, and we would like everyone to "Rock their Crazy Socks" on that day. We hope everyone has a great evening and remember, once a Racer, always a Racer. Have a good night.

Good evening Racer families, this is Ms. Durko with some reminders for the week ahead. This week is "Read Across America Week". There will be fun activities for RDE students and staff to participate in each day. On Monday, it's time to wear green or your favorite RDE Spirit Wear. Tuesday wear a college or destination shirt. On Wednesday we invite everyone to wear crazy sock and/or mismatched clothes. Thursday have fun dressing as your favorite Dr. Seuss character. And on Friday wear your favorite hat to school. Friday we are excited to welcome some special guest readers as well to read to our classes. Next week on Monday, March 10th and Tuesday, March 11th, there will be no school for students. These are both JCPS Teacher workdays. A reminder that the tardy bell rings every morning at 8:55am, and students should be in their seats, in the classroom by that time. If students arrive after that, and there are no adults outside, a parent must walk them inside to check them in. We hope everyone has a great week and remember, once a Racer, always a Racer.
