It is hard to believe, but tomorrow is the last day of school for all JCPS students.
It has been an amazing year, and we are grateful each and every day to have the very best students, staff, parents, and community here at River Dell. I am thankful for your support and partnership as we work to make RDE the very best school. Your support of all that we do here never goes unnoticed.

Also, please make sure your students get a good night of sleep before these testing days. The temperature in the classrooms during testing may vary, so it is always a good idea to send them with a sweater, sweatshirt, or jacket. We are so excited and so confident in our students. Please get your students ready and excited to take their time, use the strategies they have been taught, and show what they know.

We had presentations from Tunisia, Jamaica, Nepal, Wales, Finland, Brazil, The Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Honduras, and Ghana. A great time was had by all!

Our Smart Cookies and Sidekicks event will begin next week (4/20 through 4/24). Every student and their chosen sidekick (parent, grandparent, or special guest) will receive a cookie and a bottled water to enjoy together. We can't wait to see you there!
What an incredible first day at Special Olympics Johnston County Spring Games 2026!
There was so much excitement from the start! Before the games began, the teams paraded around the track to the cheers of the families and friends gathered in the stands.
From 100-meter races and running jump, to tennis ball throw, and bowling, our elementary Special Olympics athletes showed incredible athleticism, determination, and sportsmanship.
Huge thanks to Special Olympics Johnston County for partnering with JCPS to put together this great event at Smithfield-Selma High.
