#JCPSDataPerformance | Johnston County Public Schools is proud to celebrate that 91% of JCPS schools earned a letter grade of A, B, or C during the 2025-2026 year, compared to 76.6% of schools statewide. School letter grades provide a broad measure of academic performance, reflecting how well students are performing on state assessments and the academic progress demonstrated within each school.

Having 91% of our schools earn an A, B, or C is a meaningful accomplishment that demonstrates the strength of academic performance across JCPS and reflects the hard work of students, educators, school leaders and families. This success is further supported by the fact that 73.5% of JCPS schools met or exceeded growth expectations, with four schools ranking among the top 20% of schools statewide for academic growth.

Together, these results demonstrate the continued progress taking place across our schools and reinforce JCPS’s commitment to providing students with the high-quality education they deserve.

Good evening Racer families, this is Ms. Durko with some reminders.
The weather is cooling down in the mornings and we can tell that Fall is on the way! Our students are really doing a great job getting into their daily routines. So much learning is going on every day in our classrooms and it is exciting to watch!
A few reminders: no student pick-ups should happen after 3:15pm daily unless there is an emergency. If you need to check your child out early please adhere to this time. Carpool is getting smoother every day. Just a quick reminder...if you need to buckle in your child that is totally fine, we just ask that you pull over into a parking spot to do so, rather than doing it in the line. This will help us keep the line moving and also keep everyone safe. Thanks for your attention to this.
Tomorrow is our first PTA meeting of the year. We look forward to seeing lots of faces there. We will meet in the Media Center at 6:00. Childcare will be provided in the gym for all RDE children.
Our Carpool Raffle is in full swing. If you would like to enter for a chance to bypass the carpool line there is still time left! The entry deadline in Friday, September 11th. Winners will be announced on Monday, September 14th. You can purchase tickets at linktr.ee/rdepta
The time of school illnesses has truly begun! There seems to be a lot going around right now. Just a reminder that if your student has a fever, or has been vomiting, they should be fever-free or vomit-free for a full 24 hours before returning to school. Thanks for helping us with that.
Last thing...the only drinks that students should have in their classroom each day is water, and they are welcome to bring personal water bottles with them to school each day.
We hope everyone has a wonderful night and remember, once a Racer, always a Racer

#JCPSDataPerformance | The newly released data for the 2025-2026 school year has many great data points. One ranking among the most impressive is that JCPS has a performance composite of 61%. This composite score ranks the highest performance composite score under the current accountability model.

The overall performance composite is a measure that reflects the percentage of students who demonstrate grade-level proficiency on state assessments across tested subjects and grade levels, providing a broad picture of academic performance across the district.

This ranking reflects the hard work of our students, educators, school leaders, families and community partners who are committed to improving student achievement and academic growth. While we celebrate this accomplishment, JCPS remains focused on moving Forward and continuing to raise expectations and outcomes for every student.

There was special attention to Section F. 36, which provides governance for the "Possession, Display, Use, Sale or Distribution of Vapes".

Revisions define vapes and expresses that there will be a 10-day suspension for any student in violation of the code.

We strongly encourage parents to speak with your child(ren) regarding the details of the policy and the consequences moving forward.

Welcome Wednesday
Good evening Racer families, this is Ms. Durko with some reminders for the week ahead.
Our first week was a great success and we are looking forward to week two. It was amazing seeing so much excitement in every classroom from students and teachers.
A few reminders: Friday was the last day for parents of 1st through 5th graders to be walked in to class by parents. Tomorrow all 1st through 5th graders should begin coming into the building on their own.
Kindergarten parents can continue walking their students in Monday and Tuesday this week.
Another reminder that all adults that come into the building are required to have their ID with them.
The tardy bell rings at 8:55am each day and students should be in their classrooms and in their seats by 8:55, ready to learn. If a student arrives after carpool has ended, and there are no adults outside, a parent is required to walk them into the office to sign them in.
Don't forget that breakfast and lunch are free for all JCPS students every day.
Lastly, on Monday September 7th there is no school for students or staff for the Labor Day holiday.
We hope everyone has a fantastic week, and remember, once a Racer, always a Racer. Have a good night.
