Red Ribbon Week
Good evening Riverwood Elementary Families. This is your principal, Mrs. White. As a reminder, Tuesday, October 22nd is a Teacher Workday so there will be no school for students. JCPS is seeking parent feedback regarding elementary Standards Based Grading. Parents should have received a message last night with details on how to submit feedback via a survey that is due November 8th. I encourage all parents to take the time to give feedback on our current grading system for elementary. Also, our transition at carpool using the sidewalk has been a seamless transition for our students and families. Using the sidewalks has reduced our PM carpool by about 10 minutes each day. Please arrive by 4:15 pm for carpool as this is the time we are finishing up. As a reminder, please stay in your vehicle during carpool and remember to put your car tags on the dashboard. Mr. Roberson sends shouts out today as he said today might have been the first day ever that we had 100% of the cars to display the car tag. I know both of these requests seem minor, but it will help to make our carpool as efficient as possible if parents remain in the vehicle and if car tags are displayed daily. Thank you for your continued support and have a wonderful weekend.

Thousands of supplies. Hundreds of donors. One common goal…helping those in their time of need. ❤ Today our Facility Services team gathered supplies from our schools, which were Hurricane Helene Relief donation sites. In a few hours, these supplies will be transported to Western North Carolina. Thank you to the many, many students, parents, and staff who have responded promptly and compassionately. Also, a special thanks to Johnston County Government and the Johnston County Sheriff's Office for allowing us to partner with you in this effort. 🤝
