The JCPS 2026 Leadership Conference wrapped up today!

The final day began with the announcement of our 2026-2027 Principal of the Year Maritza Rosado of Selma Elementary, and Assistant Principal of the Year Tamara Brock of South Smithfield Elementary.

Our administrators and staff left equipped with valuable knowledge, tools, and techniques to lead their school communities to continued success!

This year’s theme is Stronger Together, and for the rest of this week, administrators and staff will learn valuable information for themselves and their school teams.

Principals are focusing on three main essentials: Students First, People’s Principal, and Instructional Leadership. Assistant principals are focusing on Principal Support, People Leadership, and Instructional Leadership.

Mr. George Beasley, has been named the Assistant Principal. These roles will be effective July 1. As I finish out this chapter to begin a new one, I know you are in good hands. This is your Principal, Lyndsey Dunn. I wanted to make you aware that on July 1st, I will be serving as the Principal at Four Oaks Elementary School. I love this school, Staff, our families, and I especially love our students. I have had the privilege and pleasure of serving as principal of this great school and community for 4 years. Your support and trust over the years means so much to me and you and our students have had a deep and lasting impact in my life. Please let your students know that I will be cheering them on from a distance and cannot wait to see all of the amazing things they continue to accomplish.

I know that whomever is chosen as the new Principal will continue to take care of you and guide this school to amazing things.

USDA is continuing the Sun Bucks program that provides grocery-buying benefits in a one-time payment of $120 per eligible child on a debit-like card that can be used to buy nutritious food during the summer months when schools are out.

Good evening Patriot Families,

This is your Principal, Lyndsey Dunn with your updates for next week. Thank you for working with us to have the testing at the end of the year run as smooth as possible. It can be a stressful time for everyone and you ensuring that your students were here, allowed for us to focus and finish in a timely manner. Most of you have had your awards ceremonies and celebrated your child’s success by now. Be proud of them. They’ve worked hard this year and it shows. A few reminders as we finish the year:
Monday, May 25th is a holiday and there is no school for staff or students.
Tuesday, May 26th is a normal school day.
Wednesday, May 27th is the last day of school. It is also an early release day and dismissal will begin at 1:45 pm. Please make sure to be in carpool earlier than usual as many students are checked out and it goes quicker. There is also no afterschool care on Wednesday so please make sure other arrangements are made ahead of time. Report cards will be sent home with students on Wednesday, as well as the school supply list for next year's grade.
Typically after school has ended, there are lots of items that are not picked up and left in the office. These items will be kept until Thursday, June 4th. After June 4th, these items will be discarded.
