JCPS Elementary Math Teacher of the Year
Good evening Cooper Academy families. This is Mr. Stoke calling with some information and reminders about upcoming events. First, thank you for your tremendous support you’ve provided throughout the 2023-2024 school year. Our students have shown tremendous growth once again! We’re looking forward to having our grades 3-5 students who just barely missed the benchmark score for their EOGs in Reading, Math and Science to return for remediation on Friday, June 7th. After remediation takes place, students will have the opportunity to retest in reading on June 10th, math on June 11th, and science on June 12th. We fully expect a significant amount of students to meet their EOG benchmark score during the retesting opportunities. Thank you for making sure your child attends this important opportunity to demonstrate grade level proficiency. Breakfast, lunch and bus transportation will be provided for students on these days. Buses are running on an early dismissal schedule which is 1:55 pm for our school. 5th Grade graduation is Wednesday, June 5th at 11:30 am. The Cooper Academy Talent Show is Wednesday, June 5th at 6:30 pm. Our final PTA school spirit event is being held at Romeo’s Pizza at 1130 W. Main Street in Clayton on Wednesday, June 5th from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm. The restaurant is donating 10% of all sales back to Cooper Academy on this date. Report Cards will be sent home with students on the last day of school which is Thursday, June 6th. This is an Early Dismissal day with dismissal at 1:55. After school care is available on this date until 5:00 pm. Please communicate with your child’s teacher if your student is not able to attend the last day of school so their report card can be sent home with them on their last day. Finally, JCPS recently hosted a Groundbreaking Ceremony for our new addition and renovation projects. Our school campus will have ongoing construction taking place throughout the 2024-2025 school year with a projected completion date of August 2025. Please enjoy the pictures and video of this ceremony on our website. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vawH6wEM85w Thank you for your continued support! Have a great evening!

It was a glorious day for the Cooper Academy: A College Prep Elementary School Additions Groundbreaking Ceremony! 🌞 First grade student ambassadors assisted in the historic ceremony for their school. Once the 14-month project is complete, these students will be able to enjoy the additions that include adding 20 classrooms and creating an enclosed corridor, creating indoor access to all campus buildings, including the cafeteria and gymnasium.
