"Throughout my career, I have learned that education is an intensely human business. We are in the business of people." - Melissa Hurst As we close out #NationalPrincipalsMonth, our final honoree is Melissa Hurst and JCPS 2024-2025 Principal of the Year!!! 👏👏👏 In her first year as principal of Corinth Holders High, she is no stranger to success. For the last six years as the principal of Princeton Elementary, she has built an environment rich for learning. Under her leadership during the 2023-24 school year, the students and staff improved their School Performance Grade from a C to a B, were ranked in the top 15% in North Carolina for academic growth, and exceeded growth for the third consecutive year. As principal of Princeton Elementary, the school’s performance composite increased from 53.1% to 64.6%. Congratulations Ms. Hurst! We know you will continue to lead with empathy. ❤ You can learn more about our 2024-2025 Principal of the Year Ms. Melissa Hurst in this video.
