Students are rocking it out in Ms. Livesay's kindergarten class. Lots of fun activities to practice numbers!

As we provide critical assistance to our neighbors in Western North Carolina, here's a reminder of our district's partnership with Johnston County Government's Hurricane Helene Relief Effort.
The region is in dire need of new, unused blankets. As you continue supporting the relief efforts, place these at the top of the list.
Thank you!

JCPS continues to exceed the state average graduation rate! 🎓

Tomorrow is the day we’ve all been waiting for…our Fall Fundraiser Glow Dance Party. Students will be dancing during their enhancement times in the gym which are as follows:
5th grade 9:15 - 10:00
2nd grade 10:10 to 10:55
Kindergarten 12:00-12:45
1st Grade 1:05-1:50
3rd grade 2:00-2:45
4th grade 2:55-3:40
Parents are invited to join us and cheer on our dancers from the bleachers. We have a space reserved just for you. We will also have a small space reserved for our younger siblings to dance. If you have a younger child who will be dancing in this area, parents are required to monitor them at all times. All parents/visitors must sign in at the front office.
Due to the safety of our CHES dancers, we ask that parents and younger siblings remain in the parent area and students remain on the dance floor with their class.
We can’t wait until tomorrow. Don’t forget to dress in neon colors. It is going to be a glo-tastic day!

Media is going to be extra fun this week! Mrs. Waring sure knows how to bring books alive.

October is #NationalPrincipalsMonth! 🥳 Starting tomorrow, keep an eye on our feed all month long to catch your principal's highlight, and give them a shout out! National Principals Month is a time to honor and celebrate the important role school principals play in the education system, and in the lives of students and staff. We look forward to seeing your loving comments about our principals! ❤

Pirate Parents,
I had the pleasure of seeing your students this week in the Media Center to talk about September's character trait of TEAMWORK.
Attached you will find some resources to help your student continue practicing social problem-solving, which is a very important part of being able to communicate, collaborate, and be a good team player.
ALSO...
PLEASE CHECK FOLDERS before sending your student back to school tomorrow.
If you have any questions regarding Backpack Buddy forms or Small Group forms, please let me know.
Please also be on the lookout for Panorama Survey permission forms for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. Surveys are opt-in and I would love the opportunity to survey students in these grade levels to see how students feel about the school environment and practices this year so far. For more information on the importance of Panorama surveys, please use the QR code at the bottom of the permission forms (you should have one by Tuesday).
Please feel free to contact me at Ashleymorton@johnston.k12.nc.us or right here on ROOMS.

Did you know...
JCPS is 1 of 12 districts to exceed pre-pandemic achievement?
Not only that, six of our amazing schools exited low performing status. All student subgroups are above pre-pandemic achievement, and JCPS is closing the achievement gaps.
#GreatThingsAreHappeningInJCPS

Our fundraiser is going well, we are halfway to our goal! Tomorrow morning we will have music in the carline to celebrate!
Remember to keep sharing for donations and if you have not registered yet it is not too late. All students registered get their name on our "Wall of Fame" and they love coming in to see their names go up. Registration is free.
Once we hit $15,000 we have another fun school wide incentive and when we hit our $20,000 goal the kids are going to love seeing Mrs. Butler and Mrs. Butts get silly stringed at lunch!

The next data highlight from the 2023-2024 school year data report is phenomenal!
Twenty-three of our schools earned their way into the top 20% of the state for growth. This accomplishment is just one example of students, teachers, and parents working together to propel our district up!
