Superpower activated: Uplifter.
Today our students learned that real heroes don't try to be the only one shining. They raise the energy of the whole room. Being an Uplifter means being genuinely excited for someone else's win, even when it's not your turn. It means making the people around you feel valued, not just seen.
They also gave their teachers a big shoutout today, because not all Super Heroes wear capes.
Their leadership challenge: find three different people today and say or do something that lifts them up. A kind word, a high five, a thank you. If your student comes home and lifts YOU up tonight, that's the Uplifter in action.

Today our students learned their Super Hero breath: breathe in like you're smelling a flower, breathe out like you're blowing out a candle. It sounds simple, but it's how heroes stay calm and strong on the inside even when things feel out of control on the outside.
The big question they're carrying with them today: "Am I using my power, or is my power using me?"
Their leadership challenge is to use their Super Hero breath three times today and then teach it to someone at home tonight. So if your student grabs you after school and asks you to smell a flower and blow out a candle, you'll know why.

HELP NEEDED! Cleveland Elementary is still seeking family volunteers to help us monitor our students during lunch periods in order to provide our classroom teachers with a duty-free lunch. Volunteers will be monitoring and assisting students, cleaning tables, and sweeping floors. We are looking for volunteers who are willing and able to commit to a certain day and time every week. There will be staff members in addition to volunteers in the cafeteria during lunch. To commit to volunteering for one or more time slots for one or more days every week, please sign up at this link for as little or as much as you would like to help. #JCPSDataPerformance | Johnston County Public Schools is celebrating significant academic gains across multiple areas during the 2025-2026 school year, with students making notable strides in reading, mathematics, science, and high school coursework.
Grade-level proficiency, which is defined as students earning a Level 3, 4 or 5 on End-of-Grade and End-of-Course assessments, increased an impressive 3.8 percentage points, rising from 57.2% in 2025 to 61.0% in 2026.
These results are an exciting reflection of the progress taking place across JCPS and demonstrate that our district is moving Forward with strong momentum toward higher levels of student achievement and academic growth.

That commitment remains at the heart of Johnston County Public Schools, and the district’s continued improvement in its graduation rate proves that to be true.
Graduation rates continued to improve during the 2025-2026 school year, with JCPS reaching an outstanding 92.6%, compared to the state rate of 88.8%.
A graduation rate that exceeds the state average is a significant accomplishment, and it reinforces JCPS’s commitment to ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed and graduate prepared for college, careers, and life beyond high school.

School letter grades provide a broad measure of academic performance, reflecting how well students are performing on state assessments and the academic progress demonstrated within each school.
Having 91% of our schools earn an A, B, or C is a meaningful accomplishment that demonstrates the strength of academic performance across JCPS and reflects the hard work of students, educators, school leaders and families. This success is further supported by the fact that 73.5% of JCPS schools met or exceeded growth expectations, with four schools ranking among the top 20% of schools statewide for academic growth.
