Last Friday, our 4th and 5th graders had Derby Day. Ms. Kathy came and taught students all about horses. She even brought a horse with her! Thank you Ms. Kathy for making our Derby Day awesome.

Johnston County Public Schools hosted its 31st annual Flame For Learning Awards celebration this evening, naming William Marshall as the 2025 Teacher of the Year! Marshall, a teacher and alumnus of West Johnston Wildcats, was one of four finalists, which included Heather Bryant of Clayton High School, Lois D'Agostino of West View Elementary, and Brooke Hayward of Riverwood Elementary School. On behalf of Johnston County Public Schools, the Johnston County Board of Education, and the Johnston County Coalition of Chambers, congratulations to all of the nominees and William Marshall, our 2025 Teacher of the Year!
