Her guidance and support of all staff members is unparalleled, and her willingness to support where needed extends beyond the regular school day. She regularly volunteers to assist with various tasks required for a smooth and well-planned school experience for all stakeholders, continuously moving Cleveland Middle from good to great! Alessandra Lima, a fifth grader at West View Elementary, received a Character Education Award for the character trait of Respect! Lima has been chosen as Student of the Month an astounding five years in a row! She does an excellent job representing all the characteristics of a true wise owl student by working hard in class, completing her work on time, and being a kind friend to all other students. Let's give a Wise Owl round of applause for Alessandra Lima! 🦉

Our final principal recognition for the week is Chad Jewett, principal at Thanksgiving Elementary. Mr. Jewett loves his students and staff, but we think they may love him more! His inspirational and motivational leadership style impacts every person he comes in contact with. The Buffalo community is so fortunate to have him, and we are too. Johnston County Public Schools will hold our annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Friday, November 10, and we are beyond excited to announce that this year's ceremony will be in-person! We are looking forward to serving all of our Johnston County Veterans lunch immediately following the ceremony. Our next Character Education Award recipient for October is Harrison "Reid" Roberts! An eighth grader at McGee's Crossroads Middle, Reid Roberts stands out from the crowd as a respectful and responsible young man. He is a leader who works hard daily to give his best at all times. Not only is Reid responsible to himself, his peers, teachers, and school, he is also very kind, displays good manners, and is trustworthy. He is a great student and an even better person. Way to go Reid Roberts!!!😎

Swan continuously demonstrates a level of maturity in the school setting, and she models positive behavior for her peers. When she does not agree with the opinions of others, she is able to express that in a respectful manner. Swan is welcoming to all of her classmates, and treats everyone as equals.
