    • Payne Recognized at Employee of the Year

      Educators that serve outside of a classroom setting were recognized for the important roles they play in Johnston County Public Schools at a special Employee of the Year reception on March 21. Honorees representing itinerant teachers and related services providers, media specialists, school counselors and student advocates, school nutrition assistants, school nutrition managers, and school support personnel were recognized after being nominated by their colleagues and administrators in their schools and being named a finalist in their respective category.

    • RDE Chorus Participates in CHHS Preview Concert

      River Dell Elementary Chorus performed their Showcase of the Stars music during a combined concert at Corinth Holders High School on Thursday, Feb. 28. RDE performed their songs “Stories of my Life” and “Seize the Day” at the show. Students performed choreography with both songs. “Stories of my Life” is a song that uses familiar book titles for the lyrics and students held the book up as the lyric was sang. “Seize the Day” is from the stage musical ‘Newsies’ and RDE chorus performed it with CHHS Chorus students as the finale song to the concert.

    • RDE holds Math Night at Food Lion

      Students ranging from pre-kindergarten to second grade from River Dell Elementary had a chance to show off their math skills at Math Night on Feb. 28. The event took place at the Food Lion on Highway 42 East in Clayton where students went around solving math problems while parents did some grocery shopping. RDE’s Spanish as a second language teacher Laura Epting teamed up with Food Lion to host the fun-filled night.

    • Carolina Mudcats Ticket Information

      Thank you to everyone who attempted to come out and enjoy the Mudcats game on Friday, April 12th. Since it was canceled due to storms, your tickets are still good. They are redeemable at any game this season. Please keep your electronic file and/or paper tickets and take them to the box office at the stadium and they will be exchanged for another game this season.

    • PTA Officer/Chair Board Positions

      The RDE PTA is looking for new faces to hold Officer/Chair Board Positions for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year. These positions are open due to current board members having either exhausted their term or will be moving on to middle school. The current board is made up of a variety of positions from the President, 3 VP positions, Treasure and several Chairs. This year we are looking for Parents who are interested in holding the President, Treasurer, VP Fundraising and a variety of Chair positions.

    • Softball Game Postponed

      Due to the forecast of rain, the RDE Backpack Buddies Softball game has been rescheduled for Friday, March 15th. The game will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Archer Lodge Community Center Softball Field.

    • STEM Night Volunteers

      This year for our 3-5 STEM Night we would like to invite our wonderful community of Scientists, Engineers, Mathematicians, and Technology Professionals into our school to present their knowledge, talents, and/or careers to our upper grade students and their families. We are in search of any River Dell Families or Friends of our school community that may have a willingness to volunteer about 2 hours in the evening on March 28th to share their passion/career in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math with our upper grade students.
