    • Howell Receives TA of the Year for RDE

      Congratulations to kindergarten teacher assistant Kelly Howell who received the 2018-2019 teacher assistant of the year for River Dell Elementary. "Way to go Mrs. Howell! Mrs. Dean's class loves you and we are very proud of you! Thank you for loving us and taking care of us. You are the best,” Kindergarten Teacher Courtney Dean said about Howell. Howell was presented with flowers on Monday, Oct. 1 by RDE Principal Chad Jewett and Assistant Principal Tandra Batchelor-Mapp.

    • RDE Collects a truck full of donations for hurricane victims

      On Saturday, Sept. 29, River Dell Elementary (RDE) was able to send a U-Haul full of supplies and donations for the victims of Hurricane Florence living in Havelock, North Carolina. RDE collected supplies all through the week of Sept. 24-29 and were planning on taking a pick-up truck down to Havelock with all the donations, however by Friday a U-Haul was needed to carry everything. The drive was initiated by our first grade teacher Kimberly Strickland, who is an alumnus at Havelock High school, along with our PTA.

    • River Dell had a surprise donation on Tuesday Sept. 11.

      Donald Tracy of Royal Oaks Homes stopped by RDE to donate three baskets of donations for the school. The donations are from Royal Oaks, Bedford Flowers Plantation and Hometown Realty. The baskets included paper towels, hand sanitizer, construction paper, sharpies and much more.

    • RDE Third Grade Teacher is Employee of the Month for the County

      Congratulations to River Dell Elementary’s (RDE) third grade teacher Lynda Martin who was awarded with the Johnston County Public Schools/Wells Fargo Foundation Certified Employee of the Month for September, 2018.

This page will be updated daily with information about the menu, the national days and weeks we will be celebrating in the cafeteria, and vital information for teachers and parents about lunch accounts.     • Parent Night: Standards Based Teaching & Learning

      We had a parent information night on Standards Based Teaching and Learning planned for September 20th. Due to the hurricane and its impact on our schedules, we have had to postpone that meeting. We now have the rescheduled date. We will have our parent night on Standards Based Teaching and Learning on Tuesday, October 16th from 6pm to 7pm in our cafeteria. We will also have our PTA share some very important information at the beginning of that meeting as well.

    • School Lunch & Breakfast Information

      Johnston County Public Schools has been notified that our district is included in the Presidential Declaration of Disaster, which will provide FREE school breakfast and lunch to ALL students starting Monday, October 1 and continuing through October 31 as a result of damages sustained by Hurricane Florence. This does not include staff, who may continue to buy meals at any time. Questions about students’ personal accounts should continue to be fielded through the school cafeteria manager or principal.

    • Parent Advisory Council Vacancies

      RDE has 4 vacancies on our Parent Advisory Council. Parent Advisory Members serve a 3-year term and meet quarterly with the principal discussing school policy, procedures, school improvement goals, and other items related to creating a positive relationship between the school and the community and families we serve. Anyone interested in applying will need to send a resume and a cover letter explaining why they desire to serve on the Parent Advisory Committee to Chad Jewett via email (chadjewett@johnston.k12.nc.us).
