Last night, JCPS celebrated the 2024 Leading with the Heart recipients!💝 The event, inspired by Mike Krzyzewski’s book, “Leading with the Heart,” recognizes those staff members throughout the school system that demonstrate leadership, compassion, and heart on a daily basis. One person from every school as well as central services was nominated by their peers, because of their unwavering commitment and dedication to their role. Johnston County Schools is operating on a 2-hour delay today, Wednesday, January 10th. Students can be dropped off at Wilson's Mills Elementary beginning at 10:25 AM. School will begin at 10:55 AM.

Under the guidance of local emergency officials and out of an abundance of caution, JCPS will operate on a 2-hour delay on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. Everyone is encouraged to drive with caution when traveling.

Christmas Break is just a couple of days away!🎄🎁 For students following the traditional school calendar, Wednesday, December 20, 2023 is an early release day. Then students will be out of school from Thursday, December 21, 2023 - Tuesday, January 2, 2024. Students return to school on Wednesday, January 2, 2024.

In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, all JCPS campuses will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 22 - Friday, Nov. 24. 🦃

Channing Adams, a first grader at Wilson's Mills Elementary is a November Character Award recipient for November! Adams has worked hard, and although faced some challenges, he took the risks and overcame the obstacles. He demonstrates great relationship skills, and is the kind of child who includes others regardless of their capabilities, language skills, and appearance. With his joyful and charismatic smile, he is always open to new friendships and welcomes anyone into his group. Let's hear it for Channing Adams! 😎

JCPS CLOSED FOR ALL STUDENTS AND STAFF THURSDAY, AUGUST 31 Due to the impending inclement weather conditions caused by Hurricane Idalia, Johnston County Public Schools will be closed for all students, staff, and visitors tomorrow, Thursday, August 31. This includes all after school activities on Thursday. The district will operate under Condition 1 of our Inclement Weather Procedures. Weather Conditions can be found online by visiting www.johnston.k12.nc.us/weatherconditions. This decision has been made out of an abundance of caution and per the guidance of local and state emergency service officials. We hope that all of our students, staff, and families stay safe, and we thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we navigate this severe weather event.
