Good morning,
Due to the railroad crossing closure at Highway 42 and 70, there could be possible delays this afternooon. Buses are being rerouted, which may cause delays arriving to school and making stops.
Thank you so much for your understanding!

Our School Community has been personally invited to this community event!

Join us for our next Family Night- March 19th from 6-7pm. There will be food trucks on-site and stations to visit as a family centered around reading. We hope to see you there!

WCES has students representing us at Showcase of Stars this weekend. The event is sponsored by JCPS and JCEF. We have 15 third - fifth grade students involved in the event as part of our WCES Chorus. This event is part of our celebration of “Music in the schools” month.

Mark your calendars!

Great opportunity in our community.

Please see this information about an opportunity led by our former students at CMS.

Read Across America Week and the Readathon are HERE! Pajamas tomorrow and cozy DEAR (drop everything and read) time is on the schedule. Have you taken a few minutes to create your child's Readathon account yet? Get ready! It's time to CELEBRATE READING!

Good Evening Bulldogs,
This is your Principal, Mrs. Barnes, with some important information. I recently sent out our March Bulldog News which includes reminders, upcoming events, and celebrations. Don't forget that this coming week is Read Across America Week. Students are encouraged to dress for each special day as we get excited about reading! Our PTA has their next Spirit Night at City BBQ on Monday, March 4 from 11-8. We will not have school for students on Tuesday, March 5. It is a Teacher Workday.
Save the Date for our next opportunity for Student Led Conferences - March 28. Also, we want our 5th Grade Parents to go ahead and save the date for our Promotion Ceremony on June 4 from 6-7 PM. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

It's officially March, so it's time to get reading for our Readathon!

Read Across America Week is next week! Get ready for spirit days and fun reading times !

Your student should have come home with an envelope with School Store information sometime this past week. We are asking you to complete option 3 on your information sheet (shop your normal retailers including Walmart, Old Navy, or Hobby Lobby to name a few). By shopping at your normal stores, our PTA receives a small portion of the total. This will last an entire calendar year and students have the ability to earn prizes for participation until the end of the school year.
We want to stress that we are not asking for donations at this time. We realize that times are tough and we don’t want to take away from any of our schools traditional spring fundraisers such as American Heart Association, Art to Remember, and our Readathon. This is simply a way to shop at your normal stores and help our school receive a portion of the purchase — kind of like a year long spirit night 🙂
Please email wcesbullsogs@gmail.com with any questions or concerns!

Last night, JCPS celebrated the 2024 Leading with the Heart recipients!💝
The event, inspired by Mike Krzyzewski’s book, “Leading with the Heart,” recognizes those staff members throughout the school system that demonstrate leadership, compassion, and heart on a daily basis. One person from every school as well as central services was nominated by their peers, because of their unwavering commitment and dedication to their role.
We honor the 53 amazing members of the JCPS family for their work that clearly does not go unnoticed! Thank you!✨
Stay tuned for an event recap video...

The fourth grade visited the NC Symphony on Tuesday, February 20. They had studied the composers, instruments, and music examples in music class with Ms. Dixon, so seeing the instruments in person really enhanced the experience. The event was paid for by Johnston County Schools so our kids were very appreciative of the free experience!
