Reading Buddies 2024
Sarah Crews is the next April 2024 Character Education Award Recipient! Crews is in the fifth grade at Princeton Elementary, and was recognized for her dependability as a student and as an individual. She is a valuable member of the flag team, Battle of the Books and Science Olympiad. To be dependable means to be trustworthy and reliable, Sarah exemplifies this daily through her actions, even when no one is watching. Keep up the good work!👍 #GreatThingsAreHappeningInJCPS

PES Update
Last night, JCPS celebrated the 2024 Leading with the Heart recipients!💝 The event, inspired by Mike Krzyzewski’s book, “Leading with the Heart,” recognizes those staff members throughout the school system that demonstrate leadership, compassion, and heart on a daily basis. One person from every school as well as central services was nominated by their peers, because of their unwavering commitment and dedication to their role. We honor the 53 amazing members of the JCPS family for their work that clearly does not go unnoticed! Thank you!✨ Stay tuned for an event recap video... #ILeadWithMyHeart

Join us in congratulating our First Year Teacher of the Year, Ms. Amy Mitchell. 🎉 Ms. Mitchell is a 5th grade Language Arts teacher. She has been part of the Bulldog staff for a few years now holding different roles. She has been an instructional assistant, worked the front desk, and been a long term substitute. We are so thankful Ms. Mitchell chose to start her teaching career with us as she was already a huge part of our family. #peswheregreatthingsgrow 💙💛 Well deserved honor Ms. Mitchell!

It is such a joy to watch children get excited about reading! Today we had a schoolwide DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) time where everyone (including staff) in the building took time to read for 20 minutes. Ask your child what they read today and maybe have DEAR time at home with your families this weekend to log ReadBowl minutes! We can’t wait to see which classrooms show up on the national leaderboard next week! 📚 We will hold a community blood drive at the school next Friday, January 26th. Help us spread the word! Monday we will start the 3rd Quarter of ReadBowl and our dress up day on Wednesday will be Reading Jogs the Mind, wear your tennis shoes and jogging pants. Next week Thursday and Friday are Teacher Workdays, there will be no school for students.
