Gustavo is extremely dedicated to learning English. He is new to our school and our country and he works very hard each day to acquire the English language. Gustavo spends a lot of time practicing and is very eager to learn. I am amazed at how well he is learning the language, especially his writing skills. Aiden is a kind friend to his classmates and goes out of his way to help others. During our reading rotations, Aiden chose to partner himself with a peer that has very special needs and often needs a teacher to help him in the classroom. Aiden welcomed this friend and he helped him the entire time moving from station to station, asking him questions to get to know him, built play-doh, and drew pictures together. Aiden enjoyed his time with his new friend and looks forward to playing together again. Wesley is a true leader in the classroom and demonstrates our core value of inclusivity. Wesley is always making sure he is helping others and that everyone is apart of our classroom. On the playground he is always looking for friends who want to play and join them. He makes up games where everyone can be included and welcome their ideas as well into the games. He is always checking in on his friends as well if something happen or he notices they are upset. We are so proud of our students who participated in the Special Olympics yesterday. Mercy -1st place in the ball toss, Lucus -1st place in the 25 yard dash & JJ - 2nd place in the 25 yard dash. Their Puma Family had a huge parade for them to cheer them on to victory.
