📣👏It's Student Resource Officer Week!👏📣 Next, we are showcasing Pine Level Elementary School SRO Robert "Bobby" Radford! 🥳 With 35 years in law enforcement, he is currently serving with the Pine Level Police Department. Radford feels that being an SRO is his best position. For the last two years, he has worked hard to provide students with a positive perspective of law enforcement officers. As we continue to showcase a few of our dedicated SROs, we want to take every opportunity to say ❤THANK YOU❤ to all of these men and women. In addition to ensuring the staff and students of JCPS are safe, these officers build relationships within their buildings. #GreatThingsAreHappeningInJCPS #NationalSchoolResourceOfficerDay

Due to the hazardous road conditions caused by the recent winter weather event, Johnston County Public Schools will be closed for all students tomorrow, Friday, January 24, 2025, as well as all extracurricular activities. The district will operate under Condition 3 of the inclement weather plan. For JCPS staff, this day will become an optional teacher workday. Schools and county offices will open at 10 AM. As always, safety is our primary concern and after driving our roadways and receiving guidance from local safety officials and NCDOT, we have been advised that though the main roads within high-traffic areas may be clear, many secondary roads within the rural areas of the county are expected to still have hazardous conditions through Friday, making them unsafe for JCPS transportation use. In addition, many of our campuses have shaded walkways, parking lots, and areas that must continue to be assessed by our operational staff before students may safely return. Extracurricular activities and community facility use will resume on Saturday morning, however, we still encourage site visitors to travel safely and be cautious while on campus, particularly in shaded areas. Have a great weekend everyone and make the most of what is left of the snow!

It's time to celebrate our Character Education Award recipients for December 2024! 🥳 First up is Dimitri Carpenter a 5th-grade student at Pine Level Elementary School. Carpenter came to school on the first day with a bright smile and an eagerness to learn. Despite facing new challenges daily, he never gives up and is not afraid of learning new things or meeting new people. Carpenter is a great friend, student, and role model. He puts on a brave face and faces each day with a great attitude. His positive energy is contagious and lights up the room. He genuinely loves his classes and interacting with his peers, especially at recess. According to Dimitri, lunch and recess are the best part of his day. Congratulations to Dimitri Carpenter! 🌟 #GreatThingsAreHappeningInJCPS
