JCPS communities came together in an extraordinary way for our neighbors in Western North Carolina! 🌟 Donations from our schools for the Hurricane Helene Relief filled three dump trailers, three 3 box trucks, two pickup trucks, and two vans! This outpouring of kindness, compassion, and generosity is what our school system is built upon. We thank everyone involved in this effort! We continue to keep everyone affected by this devastating event in our hearts! ❤

Thousands of supplies. Hundreds of donors. One common goal…helping those in their time of need. ❤ Today our Facility Services team gathered supplies from our schools, which were Hurricane Helene Relief donation sites. In a few hours, these supplies will be transported to Western North Carolina. Thank you to the many, many students, parents, and staff who have responded promptly and compassionately. Also, a special thanks to Johnston County Government and the Johnston County Sheriff's Office for allowing us to partner with you in this effort. 🤝

JCPS continues to exceed the state average graduation rate! 🎓 In 2024 our graduation rate was 91.3%, well above the state average of 86.9%. 🥳 #GreatThingsAreHappeningInJCPS

It's National Custodial Workers Day! 🌟 JCPS is honored to celebrate these remarkable team members who work relentlessly to ensure our students and staff have a clean and safe learning environment. Custodians work behind the scenes, but are essential in education! A special THANK YOU to these heroes! ❤

Come on out and enjoy some fun and food while supporting the band at the Kenly 95 truck stop. We will be having our annual spirit night from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday, October 8th. A percentage of all the fast food sales will go to support the band and their work in the community.

Academic growth is very important to JCPS! 📚 The district is proud to announce that 89% of the schools received a letter grade of A, B, or C, an increase of 24% from 2018! Likewise, 85% of the schools in the district met or exceeded growth, a 56% increase from 2018! JCPS is truly moving forward! 🌟 #GreatThingsAreHappeningInJCPS

October is #NationalPrincipalsMonth! 🥳 Starting tomorrow, keep an eye on our feed all month long to catch your principal's highlight, and give them a shout out! National Principals Month is a time to honor and celebrate the important role school principals play in the education system, and in the lives of students and staff. NJHS Panther Club & Athletics will hold a drop off for Hurricane Helene Supplies on Thursday from 6pm-8pm. All supplies will go straight to Cragmont at Black Mountain. Cragmont is being set as a supply distribution hub and will be ready to feed 10000 meals a day by the middle of the week. Attached is a list of supplies needed. Congratulations to the North Johnston Marching Panthers. They beat their best score at the Cleveland Marching Band Critique and Competition. They finished 9 places higher than previously as they start the season off strong! This Saturday, they travel to West Johnston to continue the great work they are doing!

Big news, North and West Johnston students! You can travel to Amsterdam and Paris with me, Coach Anderson, in Summer 2026! We will have a big group of North and West Johnston Students. Underclassmen Picture Day is October 8th

Did you know... JCPS is 1 of 12 districts to exceed pre-pandemic achievement? Not only that, six of our amazing schools exited low performing status. All student subgroups are above pre-pandemic achievement, and JCPS is closing the achievement gaps. #GreatThingsAreHappeningInJCPS

The next data highlight from the 2023-2024 school year data report is phenomenal! Twenty-three of our schools earned their way into the top 20% of the state for growth. This accomplishment is just one example of students, teachers, and parents working together to propel our district up! #GreatThingsAreHappeningInJCPS

Voters will have the opportunity on November 5, 2024, to vote for a bond that could provide $120 million to JCPS and continue to improve the quality of education we offer our community. It is imperative that all of our leadership and school stakeholders understand the projects that will be funded by this referendum.
