One last reminder that there is no school tomorrow, Tuesday, October 22, 2024, for JCPS students on the traditional calendar. 📅

JCC will be on Campus Thursday October 24th to provide an information session for Juniors and Seniors who are interested in enrolling in the BioWorks class this spring. Juniors or Seniors interested in attending the information session to learn more about this opportunity and the certifications available should contact Mrs. Pate or Ms. Casey in student services (through email or in person) to make sure they are registered to attend this information session.

Senior Portraits are Friday, October 18th in the Auditorium. CADY Photography will supply the attire for your Formal Portrait and your Cap and Gown; you need to supply the outfits for your casual portraits as well as any jewelry you want to wear. Make sure you are in the auditorium 5 minutes before your session begins. Each session is 30 minutes, and you will not get extra time if you are late to your session, as that is unfair to other seniors who are on time. Any Senior who has not signed up for a Senior Portrait Session for tomorrow, 3:00 is the only time still available if you want to try to get that time quickly. Once the sessions are filled up, those will no longer be available on CADY.com or for you to sign up.

Any students interested in trying out for a winter sport, that includes basketball, Indoor track, swimming and wrestling, can find the tryout dates and times on the schools website under Menu, then Athletics. The schedules are also posted around the school. See any winter coaches if you have any questions.

There will be a College Information session from 6 - 7:30 on Tuesday, October 22nd in the Media Center. Please see the attached flyer.

JCPS continues to improve its school performance grades! 🌟
We are proud to announce that 89% of our schools received a school letter grade of A, B, or C according to recent data, surpassing the state average of 66%. This is a tremendous increase since 2018, when 65% of our schools were identified as the same.
Through dedication and hard work, three schools moved from a letter grade of C to B, and four schools moved from D to C! 👏

JCPS communities came together in an extraordinary way for our neighbors in Western North Carolina! 🌟
Donations from our schools for the Hurricane Helene Relief filled three dump trailers, three 3 box trucks, two pickup trucks, and two vans! This outpouring of kindness, compassion, and generosity is what our school system is built upon. We thank everyone involved in this effort!
We continue to keep everyone affected by this devastating event in our hearts! ❤

Thousands of supplies. Hundreds of donors. One common goal…helping those in their time of need. ❤
Today our Facility Services team gathered supplies from our schools, which were Hurricane Helene Relief donation sites. In a few hours, these supplies will be transported to Western North Carolina.
Thank you to the many, many students, parents, and staff who have responded promptly and compassionately.
Also, a special thanks to Johnston County Government and the Johnston County Sheriff's Office for allowing us to partner with you in this effort. 🤝

JCPS continues to exceed the state average graduation rate! 🎓
In 2024 our graduation rate was 91.3%, well above the state average of 86.9%. 🥳

As we provide critical assistance to our neighbors in Western North Carolina, here's a reminder of our district's partnership with Johnston County Government's Hurricane Helene Relief Effort.
The region is in dire need of new, unused blankets. As you continue supporting the relief efforts, place these at the top of the list.
Thank you!

Come on out and enjoy some fun and food while supporting the band at the Kenly 95 truck stop. We will be having our annual spirit night from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday, October 8th. A percentage of all the fast food sales will go to support the band and their work in the community.

It's National Custodial Workers Day! 🌟
JCPS is honored to celebrate these remarkable team members who work relentlessly to ensure our students and staff have a clean and safe learning environment. Custodians work behind the scenes, but are essential in education!
A special THANK YOU to these heroes! ❤
