
Picture Day for Underclassmen will be Wednesday, September 13th. All students and staff will have their photos taken for the yearbook.

NJHS Evening Academy offers free after school tutoring Mondays through Thursdays, from 2:15 to 5:00 pm in our Media Center. Transportation is not currently available and students must be picked up promptly at 5:00 pm. Evening Academy begins this Monday, September 11 and no pre-registration is needed.

Strawbridge Studios will be here Monday, September 11, between 8:30 and 11 to take Senior portraits for the Yearbook. On Friday, September 15th, underclassmen will have their pictures taken as well. Order forms will be available on Monday during Advisory, Visit the Strawbridge website for more information.

The National Honor Society will have a mandatory 15 minute meeting after school on Tuesday, September 12th in the media center. If you are a current member, you must attend. See Mrs. Boring or Chief Fitzgerald with questions.

DECA Officer applications are now available to all DECA members to fill out. See Coach Campbell in Room 704 for an Officer Application.

“Tickets are on sale now, for the fall harvest dance which will be held on October 7th from 7-10 in the cafeteria. Ticket prices are $25 per couple or $15 for solo tickets. Tickets can be purchased in room 408 with Mrs. Lippert.

Seniors, please be sure to check your email so you can complete the official voting form for the class of 2024 song, motto, colors and flower. This will be the final vote before we announce the class of 2024 symbols on Friday of this week. If you have questions or concerns, please see Mrs. Wheeler.

Car riders, please do not sit in your car when you arrive at campus. Proceed directly to the security gates so you will not be late to class.

Homecoming is fast approaching and our annual spirit week will be held from September 25-September 29. On Monday, come ready for bed, but don’t sleep in class. It's pajama day. L is for lobster, on Tuesday come dressed as the first letter of your name. You are Kenough, on Wednesday dress as Barbie and Ken. On Thursday bring anything but a backpack and please keep it small. Wear your Red, Black, Grey, and White to show up and shout for the panthers on Friday playing the Spring Creek Gators.

Students and Teachers, Please be aware that painters will be working on the exterior cafeteria sidewalk for the next week or so. This area should be marked with tape. Please do not walk through the taped areas or on the walkway until further notice.

Students interested in taking Driver's Ed: We will have our rescheduled Parent Meeting for Tuesday, September 5th at 6:30, until 8:00 PM in the cafeteria. The student and a parent must attend this meeting in order for the student to be included in the Driver's Ed class.

Graduates of 2023, your yearbook inserts have arrived. Please pick them up from Ms. Rhodes in the front office.

There will be no school on Monday, September 4th, in observance of Labor Day. Have a great long weekend, and we will see you on the 5th, bright and early!

The driver’s education parent meeting is cancelled for August 31st and rescheduled for September 5th from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Class will start September 6th.

JCPS CLOSED FOR ALL STUDENTS AND STAFF THURSDAY, AUGUST 31
Due to the impending inclement weather conditions caused by Hurricane Idalia, Johnston County Public Schools will be closed for all students, staff, and visitors tomorrow, Thursday, August 31. This includes all after school activities on Thursday. The district will operate under Condition 1 of our Inclement Weather Procedures. Weather Conditions can be found online by visiting www.johnston.k12.nc.us/weatherconditions.
This decision has been made out of an abundance of caution and per the guidance of local and state emergency service officials.
We hope that all of our students, staff, and families stay safe, and we thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we navigate this severe weather event.


Any students interested in joining DECA should see Mr. Campbell during the school day to pick up an application. Membership dues are $25.This is open to any past, current, and future business and/or marketing education students. If you are interested in going on field trips, having guest speakers come talk with you, and have a chance to meet and become friends with other DECA students around the country, come join one of the best Career Technical Organizations around. The deadline to sign up for the Senior Trip and pay the $400 deposit is Friday, September 8. See Mrs. Barnes in room 604 for details and payment.

Congrats to the North Johnston Varsity Football team for their 14-6 victory over Rosewood High last Friday night. The Panthers move to 2-0 and will travel to Midway High School this Thursday.
