Recent data shows that JCPS performed extremely well during the 2023-2024 year, lowering the number of low performing schools to ONLY 1, making the district the largest district with the lowest percentage of low performing schools! #GreatThingsAreHappeningInJCPS

Based on the current weather forecast, Johnston County Public Schools will continue normal operations on Monday, September 16, 2024. However, all after-school and evening campus activities and events have been canceled due to the forecast. We understand that this decision will inconvenience many after-school events, however, student and staff safety is our primary concern. It is our district’s goal to make our school communities as prepared as possible for emergency situations, including inclement weather. This decision has been made out of an abundance of caution, per the guidance of local and state emergency service officials. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we navigate this storm event. We encourage everyone to follow the guidance of local weather officials, and have a safe evening!

Good evening MEadow families. I hope everyone has enjoyed their weekend. Our first announcement concerns carpool and we need your help.. For K-3 in the mornings, we need for our families to create two lines to help try and keep families from sitting on Hwy 50. A staff member will alternate lines so that only one line is dropping off students. This will help us in making future decisions. While in carpool, morning or afternoon, please pay attention to the vehicles around you. Occasionally someone will get distracted and not see other cars moving. We need everyone's help so that we have a safe process for all. On Wednesday and Thursday we will have a home athletic events. Please pay attention to the signs as we will direct spectators to park in the bus lot. Our athletic schedule for the week is as follows. Volleyball and Soccer play at North Johnston Monday and home against Selma Wednesday. Our Football team plays home against Selma on Thursday.

These families may start parking in the PTO VIP spots. The school asks that you walk to the awning and pick up your child beginning at 3:15. Good evening families. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. We have just a few announcements for the week. Volleyball and Soccer play at McGees Monday and at FOur Oaks Thursday. Football plays at North Johnston on Wednesday. We continue to monitor our morning carpool in front of the school for K-3. Our team will discuss options. However, we feel a change needs to be made to help keep cars from parking on Hwy 50. We will send information out once we finalize our plans. In the meantime, students can be dropped off beginning at 8:00. Please have our child ready to exit the vehicle when you are parked between the White Lines.

first day of school
Good evening MEadow Families. Tomorrow is the first day of school! We are so excited to have our students back on campus. As we begin the school year we have some information to share with all. Carpool, in the morning K-3 is dropped off in front of the school and 4-8 is dropped off by the gym. We ask parents to remain in the car and a staff member will help direct students into the building. Please have your child unbuckled once entering our campus so they are ready to exit your vehicle once parked. In the afternoon, all vehicles should enter by the bus parking lot and proceed to line up by the middle school building. For our returning families, this is nothing new. For our first time families there are directions/markings on the pavement. Our Kindergarten students do not begin until Wednesday or Thursday. Your teacher should notify you of the start date. All kindergarten students report on Friday Aug. 30. We do allow parents to walk their 1st-5th grade students on the first day of school only. However, we ask that you do not stay long so that we can begin school. Kindergarten will be allowed to walk their students the first two days-Wednesday or Thursday and Friday. Our PTO will send home information the first day of school. Their first fundraiser is a VIPO Carpool pass. Three families will be drawn from the raffle. They will be allowed to park in the designated spaces to skip the carpool line and pick their student up at 3:15. Tickets are $5 each or 5 tickets for $20. This is a link to their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/MeadowPTO/ We are looking forward to another great year at MEadow School. To stay further connected to MEadow School, please follow us on Facebook and Twitter (X). MEadow Success begins with ME!
