JCPS will host a Choice Programs Information Night on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Smithfield-Selma High (700 M Durwood Stephenson Pkwy, Smithfield, NC 27577), from 5:45 PM to 8 PM.
Attendees will be provided 15-minute information sessions about the various programs offered to 8th graders and a Q&A session.
The application window for students wanting to attend High School Choice Programs starts on January 1st and will end on February 15th.

McGee's Crossroads Middle School Beta Club and SGA Club are co-sponsoring a Food Drive, which will be held Monday, December 1st through Thursday, December 18, 2025.
Non-perishable food items include:
Rice
Pasta
Canned meat
Canned fruit
Canned vegetables
Beans
Dried fruit
Peanut butter
Baby food items
Each day will feature a festive holiday theme. Students and staff are encouraged to participate during this time of holiday fun and cheer!
Our November event will be a night for learning with an "NFL" football theme. Parents and guardians will learn about MAP and NC Check-In data, what it means, and how it is used to support students academically. There will be various interactive football activities on each grade level hallway and in the cafeteria.
Snacks will be available to those who attend. We hope to see you there!
