Veda Swan, a fifth grade student at McGee's Crossroads Elementary, received a Character Education Award for the trait of Respect! Swan continuously demonstrates a level of maturity in the school setting, and she models positive behavior for her peers. When she does not agree with the opinions of others, she is able to express that in a respectful manner. Swan is welcoming to all of her classmates, and treats everyone as equals. Fire Prevention Week runs from October 8 - 14. 👩‍🚒👨‍🚒 This week is dedicated to teaching children and adults how to stay safe in the event of a fire. Make an escape plan with your family and practice that plan so you are ready in the event of a fire.
