JCPS is looking for Reading Buddy volunteers to help our students this summer! We need parents, grandparents, community members, and high school students to join our Summer Reading Camp participants during morning arrival.
Volunteers will listen to and encourage students as they develop their reading skills. No experience is required, but you will need to register and be a volunteer with JCPS before you begin.

West Johnston High took first place, with Johnston County Early College Academy earning second place. West Johnston High advances and will represent JCPS at the regional competition on April 9th at 9 AM in Harnett County.

Last night, JCPS celebrated the 2024 Leading with the Heart recipients!💝
The event, inspired by Mike Krzyzewski’s book, “Leading with the Heart,” recognizes those staff members throughout the school system that demonstrate leadership, compassion, and heart on a daily basis. One person from every school as well as central services was nominated by their peers, because of their unwavering commitment and dedication to their role.
We honor the 53 amazing members of the JCPS family for their work that clearly does not go unnoticed! Thank you!✨

Graduates: cap and gown photos are tomorrow in Wilson 1111 from 11:00-4:00. Students do not need to make an appointment, and there is no sitting fee. Proofs will be sent home in a few weeks, and you can decide at that time if you'd like to make a purchase.

Today is the deadline to submit CAPS fee waivers requests to JCC for the Spring semester. There is a new process this year requiring the submission of two digital forms. Students can view the details on Google Classroom; parents can view the details on our website.
JCECA students will receive a letter from their high school teacher this week explaining the Panorama SEL survey that will be conducted between January 16-30. For more information about the survey, including links to the questions that are asked, visit bit.ly/JCPSSELsurvey
Under the guidance of local emergency officials and out of an abundance of caution, JCPS will operate on a 2-hour delay on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.
Everyone is encouraged to drive with caution when traveling.
Christmas Break is just a couple of days away!🎄🎁
For students following the traditional school calendar, Wednesday, December 20, 2023 is an early release day. Then students will be out of school from Thursday, December 21, 2023 - Tuesday, January 2, 2024. Students return to school on Wednesday, January 2, 2024.
JCPS will host a Choice Programs Information Night on Tuesday, December 12, at Smithfield-Selma High, 6 PM to 8 PM.
Attendees will be provided 15 minute information sessions about the various programs offered to 8th graders and a Q&A session.
Students are able to apply for the programs now! The application window for students wanting to attend High School Choice Programs will end on February 21, 2024.
In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, all JCPS campuses will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 22 - Friday, Nov. 24. 🦃
