During the July 14th regular scheduled meeting, the JC Board of Education approved revisions to Policy Code 4304: Code of Student Conduct.
There was special attention to Section F. 36, which provides governance for the "Possession, Display, Use, Sale or Distribution of Vapes".
Revisions define vapes and expresses that there will be a 10-day suspension for any student in violation of the code.
We strongly encourage parents to speak with your child(ren) regarding the details of the policy and the consequences moving forward.
Please know that the Johnston County Board of Education strives to mitigate health and safety concerns related to harmful substances such as tobacco products and/or vapes. The revised verbiage and the associated penalties have been set to achieve this goal.

It is almost time for you to return to CTLA, and the CTLA Team and I are excited to get started. First-year students report August 10th, and returning students report August 11th and are expected to attend their high school classes until their JCC classes begin. JCC classes begin on August 17th.
First-year students, you will have a fantastic year of meeting new people, building relationships, having new experiences, learning, growing, and having fun! Returning students, you will take up where you left off by continuing to build upon the foundation of excellence that you have already established. Returning students, you will have an opportunity to mentor, be an ambassador, and demonstrate for our first-year students what it means to be Wolf Proud!
All CTLA students are asked to bring a protective cover for the school-issued Chromebook. Mrs. Westbook, our assistant principal, will issue Chromebooks to students the first couple of days when they arrive. Students will not be issued a Chromebook without a protective Chromebook cover. The protective cover can be purchased at Target, Dollar Tree, Walmart, etc., and is relatively inexpensive. If there is a problem getting a protective cover, please get in touch with the school as soon as possible. Students should bring a USB drive; it will be used to back up assignments.
CTLA doesn't have a list of resource requests other than pencils, paper, and a backpack, because lockers are not available.
