Four Oaks Elementary School will host its first ever March Madness Attendance Tournament. This tournament will take place the weeks of March 11th, March 18th and March 25th. A homeroom class from each grade level with the best attendance that week will be rewarded. We are looking forward to seeing all of our students present at school during this friendly competition!

Parents,
We are super excited for our 1st Four Oaks Elementary Character Parade tomorrow at 10:00 am. 5th grade is leading the parade. The parade order will go in descending order. The Four Oaks Police Department will be in place beginning at 9:30. After 9:50, there will be no local traffic allowed through.Parents are invited to line up on the sidewalks of Main Street beginning at 9:45. No cars will be allowed to park on the parade route for the safety of all participants. Students will walk all the way to the Town Hall and then turn around. Parents do not need to come by the school prior to the parade. Parents should not plan to walk with their children in the parade. For the safety of all students and guests, we politely ask that you do not stop the parade or walk out into the route for pictures. Students shall remain with their teacher at all times. At the end of the parade, students will return directly to their classrooms and resume their normal instructional day. Students can carry a book or sign that represents their character instead of wearing a costume. Students checked out prior to 12:30 will be marked absent.
Remember, a signed permission form is required for students to participate. It is not too late to give your child permission to walk in the parade. Thank you for supporting this exciting event!
See you tomorrow at 10:00 am!

Good Afternoon Parents,
Next week is going to be a busy and exciting week at Four Oaks Elementary School. Tuesday is a teacher workday and there will be no school for students that day.
We are celebrating Read Across America Week. We want to help ignite a love of reading into each and every one of our students. Each school day will have a theme. Monday is Snuggle up with a good book day. Students are encouraged to wear their favorite, school appropriate pajamas. Friday is Character Day and Four Oaks Elementary will be participating in a parade down Main Street at 10:00 am . Main Street will be blocked off and parents are encouraged to line the side walks of Main Street to cheer on our students. Field trip forms were sent home with students since we will be leaving campus. Extra forms are available in the front office.
Wednesday and Thursday are also our spring picture dates. Flyers have been sent home that detail the specific day of your child's pictures. You can also check with your child's teacher. Class pictures will be taken at this time. Class pictures will be available as a pre-sale. Individual pictures will be sent home with students and parents can keep the pictures that they wish to purchase.
Thank you for supporting our school,

During the week of March 4th-8th our school will be celebrating Read Across America week. FOES Cardinals are encouraged to participate in our Spirit Week activities. See the flyer below for more information....

Last night, JCPS celebrated the 2024 Leading with the Heart recipients!💝
The event, inspired by Mike Krzyzewski’s book, “Leading with the Heart,” recognizes those staff members throughout the school system that demonstrate leadership, compassion, and heart on a daily basis. One person from every school as well as central services was nominated by their peers, because of their unwavering commitment and dedication to their role.
We honor the 53 amazing members of the JCPS family for their work that clearly does not go unnoticed! Thank you!✨
Stay tuned for an event recap video...

In an effort to build deeper connections with the parents of our students, we are looking at offering several events and we are using this form to gauge interest and availability to attend.
In the past we have offered after school opportunities for parents and family members to gather and learn about various topics. Most recently we offered a Success-Focused Book Study outlining the philosophy of Coach John Wooden. In an effort to get feedback on what our parents and stakeholders most want and expect, please fill out the form below to help us serve you better. Kylie Murray is our next February 2024 Character Education Award recipient!
Quick to offer peers and staff a smile, she continues to make an impact on former teachers with smiles, hugs, and words of encouragement. She even asks staff about their family! Murray is flourishing in her role as a member of the school's Safety Patrol, greeting younger students with warmth, even helping them tie their shoes!
Way to go!✨
