Good afternoon, Explorer families. JCPS has named tomorrow a Remote Learning Day for students and staff. This ensures that our instructional day will count, and will not require students to make up the day.

Please check students' binders and backpacks for remote learning activities prepared by your child's teacher. We have provided both a general list of activities and teachers have also sent or will post more specific activities as well.

While these are not graded assignments, the work will keep your students in the routine of learning while they are away from school.

Do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher via Dojo or email with any questions. Please stay safe during this winter weather event.

JCPS will operate on a two-hour delay on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.

All students and staff should report to schools and campuses on a two-hour delay.

We have been advised that the potential of black ice is possible tonight through Tuesday morning, creating hazardous travel conditions. To allow for better road visibility for our bus drivers, students, and staff drivers, we will be on a two-hour delay tomorrow. We encourage all travelers, especially our student drivers, to travel with caution.

School nutrition will serve breakfast upon students’ arrival. Early morning care will open two hours later than the normal start time.

Thank you for your understanding as we work with local safety and emergency officials to ensure that we are all safe during these inclement weather events.

Good afternoon, Explorer Families! This is Mrs. Sabo with an update about several events that we have happening at the school.
First, do not forget tonight that we have Spirit Night at Red Robin at White Oak. Take the flyer or mention East Clayton to support our PTA.
Today, we have sent home information regarding the Penguin Patch Holiday Shop for next week. The Holiday Shop is a fun way for students to shop for family members and experience the spirit of giving while learning to earn, budget, and save! There will be over 100 gifts available for your student to choose from, all ranging in price from $.50 to $12. More information and a budget envelope has been sent home with your student.
Students will shop during their music and PE classes. We will also have the Holiday Shop set up during the Winter Wonderland event on December 11th. Come out for a night of family fun. We will also have student-made ornaments for sale for just $5 which you will be able to add to your tree or provide to your family members as a gift. We still need parent volunteers for both our holiday shop and Winter Wonderland!
