The event, inspired by Mike Krzyzewski’s book, “Leading with the Heart,” recognizes those staff members throughout the school system that demonstrate leadership, compassion, and heart on a daily basis. One person from every school as well as central services was nominated by their peers, because of their unwavering commitment and dedication to their role.

We are excited to announce that our annual food drive is back! This year, we will partner with Providence Presbyterian Church to replenish the Backpack Buddies backpacks. We will be collecting food items throughout the month of February.
Our goal for this food drive is to collect 650 items. These items will go directly to the Backpack Buddies program, which provides food to students in need to bring home over the weekends. Because of this program Dixon Road has been able to send home multiple backpacks every week to our students in need.
We have shared with our students that if we reach our goal of at least 650 food items, we will celebrate with a school-wide pajama day!
Here are some suggestions for food item donations:
Canned vegetables and fruits
Canned soups and stews with pull-top lids
Pasta and Spaghetti sauce with pull-top lids or in jars
Peanut butter and jelly
Cereal and oatmeal
Granola bars and gummy snacks
Juice boxes and shelf-sustainable milk
Please ensure that items are non-perishable and not expired. Let’s work together to make a positive impact on our students in need.
Donations can be placed in the donation bin in the main hallway of the school.
