Recently Mr. Dominic "Dom" Pegues of Clayton High School was recognized as the 2024 Sam Narron Award recipient. Mr. Pegues is a standout senior scholar-athlete who has received recognition for his performance in the classroom and on the ballfield this year!
The Sam Narron Award is presented to the Johnston County Public Schools baseball player who has shown the most love for the game of baseball through determination, dedication, and sacrifice.
Congratulations Mr. Pegues and JCPS wishes you the best of luck as you soar into your collegiate career!

It was a glorious day for the Cooper Academy: A College Prep Elementary School Additions Groundbreaking Ceremony! 🌞
First grade student ambassadors assisted in the historic ceremony for their school. Once the 14-month project is complete, these students will be able to enjoy the additions that include adding 20 classrooms and creating an enclosed corridor, creating indoor access to all campus buildings, including the cafeteria and gymnasium.

In partnership with Johnston Community College, the students graduated with not only a high school diploma, but an associate degree in arts, science, or engineering.

Olivia Braxton is our final May Character Education Award recipient!🌟
A senior at JCPS Virtual Academy, Braxton has experienced many challenges during her high school career, and has sought ways to overcome those obstacles and still press on.
She has learned time management, self-control, integrity, building relationships, and most importantly, self advocacy.
