Character Education

Character Education is a priority in the Johnston County Public Schools. Through a variety of means, schools in the district promote character education through rewards, bulletin boards, presentations, and interactive lessons. Each month the Johnston County Board of Education recognizes students who have demonstrated good character.

Self Discipline	Doing your best in all situations
Respect	Understanding that all people have value as human beings
Perseverance	Working hard and not giving up
Responsibility	Being accountable for your own actions
Compassion	Treating others as you would like to be treated
Dependability	Keeping your promises
Fairness	Treating all people equally
Integrity	Being honest in all things
Courage	Doing the right thing even when others do not
Honesty	Being truthful in words and actions
Loyalty	Standing up for friends, family, and country
Patriotism	Loving your country and standing up for the purposes for which it was founded
