West Smithfield Elementary School

West Smithfield teacher Kendra Kelly was awarded a grant by the International Society for Key Women Educators, an Alpha Beta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, which is known for its mission: Leading Women Educators and Impacting Education Worldwide. The grant will be used to purchase items that support adaptive literacy opportunities for exceptional learners with verbal or visual challenges. Mrs. Kelly was surprised by two representatives of the organization, Heather Pennica and Amy Stanley, on Tuesday morning. She said, "I am so honored to be a recipient of this grant as it will benefit our students by making literacy accessible and engaging while guiding a sense of community in our classroom." West Smithfield is also honored to have such amazing educators, passionate about changing the lives of all students. Congratulations, Mrs. Kelly!
