Smithfield-Selma High School

On April 26, 2026, Smithfield-Selma High School history teacher Sigmund Daniels' World History students conducted a simulation of a United Nations summit meeting at the Smithfield Town Hall. The speeches given and the resolutions considered in this summit meeting were the result of students' research, critical thinking, and oral presentation skills. This initiative was approved by Principal Dr. Ryan Ewell and coordinated by Mr. Jonathan Anderson (Assistant Principal), Mr. Sigmund Daniels, Councilwoman Doris Wallace, and Town of Smithfield personnel - Ms. Kimberly Pickett (Interim Town Manager), Mr. Brian Eaves (Public Information Officer), and Ms. Beth McKeel (Administrative Support Specialist).
