Thousands of supplies. Hundreds of donors. One common goal…helping those in their time of need. ❤ Today our Facility Services team gathered supplies from our schools, which were Hurricane Helene Relief donation sites. In a few hours, these supplies will be transported to Western North Carolina. Thank you to the many, many students, parents, and staff who have responded promptly and compassionately. Also, a special thanks to Johnston County Government and the Johnston County Sheriff's Office for allowing us to partner with you in this effort. 🤝

As we provide critical assistance to our neighbors in Western North Carolina, here's a reminder of our district's partnership with Johnston County Government's Hurricane Helene Relief Effort. The region is in dire need of new, unused blankets. As you continue supporting the relief efforts, place these at the top of the list. Thank you!

JCPS continues to exceed the state average graduation rate! 🎓 In 2024 our graduation rate was 91.3%, well above the state average of 86.9%. 🥳 #GreatThingsAreHappeningInJCPS

It's National Custodial Workers Day! 🌟 JCPS is honored to celebrate these remarkable team members who work relentlessly to ensure our students and staff have a clean and safe learning environment. Academic growth is very important to JCPS! 📚 The district is proud to announce that 89% of the schools received a letter grade of A, B, or C, an increase of 24% from 2018! Likewise, 85% of the schools in the district met or exceeded growth, a 56% increase from 2018! JCPS is truly moving forward! 🌟 #GreatThingsAreHappeningInJCPS

Did you know... JCPS is 1 of 12 districts to exceed pre-pandemic achievement? Not only that, six of our amazing schools exited low performing status. All student subgroups are above pre-pandemic achievement, and JCPS is closing the achievement gaps. #GreatThingsAreHappeningInJCPS

The next data highlight from the 2023-2024 school year data report is phenomenal! Twenty-three of our schools earned their way into the top 20% of the state for growth. Voters will have the opportunity on November 5, 2024, to vote for a bond that could provide $120 million to JCPS and continue to improve the quality of education we offer our community. It is imperative that all of our leadership and school stakeholders understand the projects that will be funded by this referendum. It's the last chance to make your voice heard! Johnston County Public Schools is in the process of selecting a calendar for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 school years. 📅 During the September 10, regular scheduled meeting the JC Board of Education received three (3) calendar options for each school year, and has requested that each of the calendar options be made available for your review and feedback. From October 3rd - October 11th, third grade students in Johnston County Public Schools will be administered the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT). The purpose of this test is to give the teachers and administrators additional information to help assess the educational needs of your child.
