Due to inclement weather, JCPS will operate on a two-hour delay on Friday, December 5, 2025. All students and staff are encouraged to drive safely and exercise good judgment while traveling.

It has been a busy week, and so much amazing learning has been taking place at RDE. It is hard to believe that there are only 11 more school days until Thanksgiving break.
Tomorrow we are having a Spirit Day at City Barbeque in Wendell. The address is 2140 Treelight Way. Come out and enjoy some great food in the restaurant or for take out anytime between 11:00am and 8:00pm. Please use the promo code GIVE or just mention you are there for River Dell Elementary so our school can receive credit.
Next Tuesday all staff and students have the day off for the Veterans Day holiday.
On Thursday, we begin the Fall Book Fair as well as Grandparents' Week. The schedule is attached and you can also find it on the RDE Facebook page. A reminder that any adult lunches purchased in the cafeteria can only be purchased using cash or check.
We hope everyone has a safe and relaxing weekend, and remember, once a Racer, always a Racer.

First of all, Friday is the last day of the 1st quarter. Next Monday, October 20th, students do not come to school. It is a JCPS Teacher Workday.
Some other reminders: if you are driving a golf cart in the morning or afternoon, to drop off or pick up your student, please only travel in the grass. We would like to ensure that the sidewalks are reserved for our students and families walking or riding bikes, scooters, etc. If you are picking up in a golf cart, please park in the grass. Those families that are picking up walkers that are NOT in golf carts, please wait for your students on the sidewalk area. Thanks for helping everyone stay safe.
If you have not signed up for Class Dojo yet, please do so asap. This is our quickest and easiest way to get important information to you each day. If you need assistance, please contact our front office for help.
Another reminder that students should not be wearing any clothing that exposes their stomach or midriff.
Lastly, a reminder that our tardy bell rings daily at 8:55, and we need all students to be in their seats ready to learn at 8:55am daily. Carpool is wrapping up around 4:25 each day, and all cars should be on campus no later than 4:20pm. Thank you for helping us with that.

Also, we have Duty Free lunch for teachers on Thursday. We can still use volunteers, so if you haven't signed up, and you are able to spare 30 minutes or so, please sign up to help. This a a small gesture that we offer every other Thursday, but means a great deal to teachers. Thanks for your help!
