
Congratulations to the following students on their performances at the NCHSAA 2A State Track meet this past Friday:
Brian Jones finished 5th in the 400m dash with a personal best time of 49.79
Samantha Boswell finished 7th in girls discus throwing
Hailey Epps finished 13th in the 3200m and broke the school record time!
Mudian Mustafa finished 14th in the 800m run
Brian Jones, Edwin Villa, Marcel Dillard, and Mudian Mustafa finished 13th in the 4x400m relay

The NJHS Chorus presents "Under the Broadway Light" featuring songs from the hit musicals "Mamma Mia" & "Lion King." The Concert will take place Monday, May 20th, in the auditorium beginning with a Senior Preshow at 6:30 PM. The concert is FREE admission and everyone is welcome to attend.

Please congratulate the Boy's Golf Team on finishing 4th place overall in the 2A Eastern Regional Golf Championships yesterday at Ironwood Golf Club in Greenville. The boys finished with a team score of 357 and were 10 strokes shy of placing 3rd and going to the State Championships as a team. Also congratulate Jesse Richardson and Jackson King as they tied for 3rd place in individual scores, both scoring 78. They missed being tied for 2nd by two strokes. The course they played is home to the East Carolina University men's and women's golf team. Both of these young men will advance to the NCHSAA State Championships at Stonebridge Golf Club in Monroe next Monday and Tuesday. Great job to these individuals and to the team.

Congratulations to the Men's tennis doubles team of Ben Cuddington and Ethan Evans on finishing 3rd in the East Regional this past weekend. The 3rd place finish qualifies them for the state championships this Friday at Ting Park in Holly Springs.

Just a quick reminder that this Sunday is Mother's Day!! The horticulture classes have several beautiful hanging baskets that would make a fantastic Mothers' Day gift. All baskets are just $13.00! See any horticulture student, Mr. Capps, or come out to the greenhouse if you are interested.

Juniors - there will be a Rising Senior Meeting on May 17, 2024 at 10:00am with Cady Photography for Senior Portraits, Mrs. Lavina Bond for Yearbook Information, and Mrs. Laura Barnes for Senior Information. Please invite your parents to attend the meeting to be informed about Senior Portraits, Yearbook for your Senior Year, and Senior Events.

Spring Football workouts will being Monday May 13th. If you are interested make sure you have a final forms profile and a current physical. Workouts will begin at the field house immediately after school. The dates are May 13-17 & May 20 - 21 after school 2:30-4:30pm. There will also be workouts the morning of Saturday May 18th 8-10am.

Congratulations are in order for the North Johnston Symphonic Band on their Superior Rating at Kings Dominion's Festival of Music on this past Saturday. Their Superior Rating is the highest achievement available. Way to go on this achievement and thank you for being a great representation of what it means to be a North Johnston High Panther!

The JCPS Transportation Department hosted the 2024 JCPS School Bus Road-E-O!
Drivers and staff from Wake, Nash, Wayne, and Johnston counties came to North Johnston High for a friendly competition driving buses through obstacles such as railroad crossings and making precise right turns.
The event is designed to help build morale, allow drivers networking opportunities, and to reinforces the importance of navigating through different obstacles.
Our bus drivers are dedicated to keeping the children of JCPS safe!🚌

Congratulations to the Doubles team of Ben Cuddington and Ethan Evans for winning the Neuse 6 Men's Tennis Doubles Championship yesterday. They now advance to the East Regional Championships on May 3. Also advancing to the East Regional Championships is Wyatt Hales. He finished 4th in the Conference Singles Championships. Good luck to these young men!!!

JCPS is looking for Reading Buddy volunteers to help our students this summer! We need parents, grandparents, community members, and high school students to join our Summer Reading Camp participants during morning arrival.
Volunteers will listen to and encourage students as they develop their reading skills. No experience is required, but you will need to register and be a volunteer with JCPS before you begin.
