Any young man wanting to play tennis this Spring, please see Coach Anderson in Student Services as soon as possible.

Parents, please note that the student pick up line during testing begins at Watson Road. Follow the Service drive by the football stadium to pick up your student by the auditorium. Students will only be dismissed after all testing is complete. Please do not text your child tomorrow morning.

Under the guidance of local emergency officials and out of an abundance of caution, JCPS will operate on a 2-hour delay on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.
Everyone is encouraged to drive with caution when traveling.


Students and staff a quick reminder that all after school activities are cancelled today so the home basketball games with Franklin Academy have been postponed. A make up date will be announced in the near future.


On Saturday, NJHS sent 5 students to be a part of All District Band Auditions. 783 students tried out for the band. All 5 NJHS students represented our school very well and should be congratulated for their hard work! There will be a mandatory parent/student driver's ed meeting on Thursday, February 1st in the North Johnston cafeteria promptly at 6:30 pm. This meeting is for any student who has completed 8th grade and will be 15 years old or older by August 1, 2024.

Christmas Break is just a couple of days away!🎄🎁
For students following the traditional school calendar, Wednesday, December 20, 2023 is an early release day. Then students will be out of school from Thursday, December 21, 2023 - Tuesday, January 2, 2024. Students return to school on Wednesday, January 2, 2024.


Winter Break will begin with Early Release on December 20. Enjoy the Christmas holiday with family and friends. If you have missing work, please also make sure you make time to get caught up. We'll see you back on Wednesday, January 3rd.

The NJHS Chorus presents a Polar Express Christmas Concert on Dec 18th in the auditorium. We will begin with a Senior Preshow at 6:30 pm. All Chorus students should arrive by 6:15 pm. Everyone is invited. Admission is Free!

JCPS will host a Choice Programs Information Night on Tuesday, December 12, at Smithfield-Selma High, 6 PM to 8 PM.
Attendees will be provided 15 minute information sessions about the various programs offered to 8th graders and a Q&A session.
Students are able to apply for the programs now! The application window for students wanting to attend High School Choice Programs will end on February 21, 2024.


The Panther basketball teams will be taking on the Smithfield Selma Spartans tonight at Home. JV Boys start if off at 4:30, followed by Varsity girls at 6, and varsity boys at 7:30.

The Horticulture classes are selling red or white poinsettias. The poinsettias are $8.00 each and can be purchases by contacting any Horticulture student, Mr. Capps, or by coming down to the greenhouse. Nothing puts you in the Christmas spirit better than enjoying a beautiful poinsettia!!

Tonight the Panther basketball teams will have their first away game at Louisburg. The JV Boys play at 4:30, varsity girls at 6, and varsity boys at 7:30pm. Tickets are $8.00 and are cash only at the door.

Tonight the Panther Wrestlers will have a home wrestling match at 6pm. South Johnston and South Lenoir High Schools will be tonight's opponents. Tickets are cash, card, or Ticketspicket. $8.00

Over the weekend, the AFJROTC Cadets showcased their drill skills by bringing home eight trophies from the 17th Annual Air Force Drill Competition at Terry Sanford High School in Fayetteville. They placed 3rd place overall and were awarded the most distinguished overall award; the Lieutenant Colonel Tom Ovbey Citizenship Award. This award is presented to the unit who displays professionalism, exceptional courtesy, leadership and service before self. Thank you AFJROTC Cadets for your countless hours of practice and dedication, you represented our Panther family well!
