Technology Plan

The transition to a digital-age education system that fully harnesses the power of modern technologies will impact all aspects of education, including the content students learn, the methods teachers use, where and when learning takes place, what resources are required, and how success is defined and measured. The NC Digital Learning Progress Rubric, supported as part of the NC Digital Learning Initiative, serves as a roadmap to support North Carolina’s educators and communities in the transition to digital-age teaching and learning.  This rubric serves as a road map to help the district leaders reflect on the current stage of development in digital learning, strategically plan, and track progress moving forward.

Johnston County Public Schools is committed to utilizing state sponsored Digital Learning initiatives defined in the North Carolina Digital Learning Rubric (NCDLT) for Districts, which focus on five major areas:  Leadership, Professional Learning, Technology and Infrastructure, Content & Curriculum, and Data & Assessment. JCPS continues to make strides in moving to a more personalized digital-age education for students to ensure that all students have equitable access to high-quality digital learning. It is the intention of the DMTAC that the vision will remain constant over the course of our plan and that it will guide the implementation of technology and distigal learning across the district.

The purpose of the JCPS Technology Plan is to provide guidance, aligning with the NC Digital Learning Standards, that:

Transforms learning by allowing students to collaborate, create, and personalize their learning.

Extends learning by providing access to content and tools so instruction can expand beyond the physical classroom.

Equips students with the skills and knowledge for life in a digital world.
