CAPS Fee & Waiver Information

From the JCPS CCP Office:

All CCP students are required to pay CAPS (Campus Access Parking and Security) Fees to Johnston Community College (JCC) for each semester they are enrolled.  The total amount of your fee depends upon the total number of credit hours you are enrolled in for the upcoming semester.  To determine how many credits you are enrolled in, log into Self-Service on the JCC website and click on "Student Planning."  Multiply the total number of credits you are enrolled in by four ($4) to determine the amount you will need to pay JCC.  

IMPORTANT: Do not pay the first amount you see due in JCC Self-Service. The fees that are posted in your account at first will be adjusted after classes begin.  The initial amount of your invoice is what you would pay as a non-CCP Student. JCC will send updated billing notifications and due dates to your JCC email account. 

If you are unable to pay this fee, and you have a documented financial hardship, you and your parent or guardian can complete steps one (1) and two (2) below each semester to be considered for a CAPS Fee Waiver. JCPS will pay the total cost of your CAPS Fees if you complete steps one (1) and two (2) and you have a documented financial hardship by a certain deadline (to be shared by the CCP office) each semester.

The CAPS Fee Waiver process is two (2) steps:

STEP 1 - Complete the JCPS CAPS Fee Waiver Request Form - This is the form that will confirm your plan to request a CAPS Fee Waiver.

STEP 2 - Complete the JCPS Student Waiver Request Form  -  To be completed by the parent. 
Completion of this form will enable us to verify if you have met the requirements for a JCPS CAPS Fee Waiver.
