On September 12th, the cadets participated in an orienteering match held at Umstead Park in Raleigh. Orienteering is a timed race where competitors navigate to different markers in the woods using only a topographical map and a compass.
A total of 12 schools attended the event. After everyone completed the course and returned safely, participants enjoyed lunch together and attended the awards ceremony. Two of our cadets earned medals before heading home.
Lucie Good placed 3rd in the yellow female category.
Mason Minger placed 5th in the yellow female category.
